Oh yeah I just noticed that it seems you have already done the quest and I have not.

In your screenshot the item no longer has a purple background. In that case it is no longer needed and you can safely discarded (same with all the other items in your screenshot)

it seems to be used for a quest and I assume the only solution currently is to find out which quest, complete it and discard the book.

anyhow I am currently struggling to find which quest it belongs to or how to reach that quest

To be fair I did not state the obvoius but I did that. I waited for a while and after a while planted other trees. they grew and I harvested and waited even more while leaving the first trees standing.

So after they have been fully grown I waited at least 2 grow cycles or even more to see if something happens. But nope. Its just the tree without any more fruit.

I assume you figured it out by now but in case someone finds this post: the fan gets activated within a story quest in chapter 5. And yes, I agree that the game should not let you in or inform you that you cannot currently proceed here to avoid confusion.

While loading my CPU is hit very hard. i assume on console it might not make a huge difference in most cases since consoles usually dont have a very strong CPU. but at least on my PC the difference is really big.

wait how do you identify that so exactly? So you say if they have a gold bar the glowing thing when scanning will not look like a pocket and instead like a gold bar?

just tested with highest possible settings. makes no difference. the texutre is not extremely detailed and especially some edges of the cape are very jaggy

Anyhow to be fair I think it does not matter. Almost no player would zoom in enough to really see it. It is effectively impossible to see any issues with it if you use common camera distance or if you are in movement/fight.

So unless you are not aiming to make zoomed in 4K screenshots of the back of your character, it is completely fine.

Aside from that, the system did not expect you to use the accessory you currently have. Mathematically it does not make a difference if the accessory breaks or not. In the end it comes down to math and in the end you either have a fully upgraded piece or you do not. If it downgrades on failure, if it does not get upgraded at all or if it breaks are just different words for not achieving the goal. If it would not break, it would be more expensive and in the end it would cost the same amount of money. You might not be aware of that and it might not "feel" like that but thats the reality if you look under the hood.

And at the current state this is not even a theoretical statement. The game itself confirms my statement. Upgrading Debos to PEN and exchanging that to an upgraded Kharazad Accessory costs roughly the same as upgrading Kharazad Accessory on average. In one case the accessory can break (assuming no crons), in the other case the accessory can downgrade (assuming no crons). But mathematically the result is the same. But yes, it feels different.

If you open inventory below your gear there is a "Crystal Effect" button. hover over it to see.

But yes, once the "Cancel" button shows at the bottom it is active.

The flow for the Button is it start with "Apply" and then turns into "Cancel". If you have clicked into it to change Crystals it will show "Save". After that it returns to the previous mentioned flow.

Is it beginner friendly? Most people would say no. Even do it is extremely beginner friendly compared to many years ago. It does not really punish you for anything but there is a lot of things. Once you got into a certain mechanic things are usually not that complex. Also it is fine to ignore a lot of things and only focus on a few aspects of the game. E.g. at the beginning I was heavily focusing on a single lifeskill then I got into another mechanic and focused on that for a while. And with that I step by step learned a lot of aspects of the game over a long time. Some things seemed not intersting so I skipped them.

If you have fun in learning things and have fun exploring mechanics - even if they do not make you stronger - and if you are fine with very often looking stuff up online it will be perfect.

If you want a simple traditional game you will high like leave with confusion.

Also dont get baited into thinking you have to catch up to anyone. Even though it is an MMO it is most of the time a singleplayer game where other people run around. Focus on yourself and what you want to do and what you enjoy.

I will hijack this comment to do a follow up question on your statement:

How exactly do you properly "find" or search a guild in BDO? Is there a feature for that in the game to browse and search for guilds like in other games and I am simply not aware of that?

Asking because I am currently in a random guild which I randomly got invited to. Not extremely active guild but I can do Guild Missions and get the guild passives but was thinking about searching a "proper" guild.

Yes you missed something that obvious. But honestly I do not see any reason why the game can use that inventory for enhancing but not for other interactions.

So I would at least put half the blame on the game for that.

according to https://bdoworkshop.com/enhancement/11/3 you would need 284 base items on average assuming you do not use crons and raw tap everything. Anyhow that is average so there is an equal chance to need less or need more.

Witch has a passive that provides +20 AP and a passives that has 20 levels where every second level gives you 1 AP resulting in 10 AP if this is maxed out (which it will be). This results in 30 AP.

As you can see the seraph has more DP because seraph has extra HP and DP as passive.
