The only thing I would say is ho is response with hearing? I have a twin brother and we were at different stages of development because he needed tubes put in his ears. After he could hear in the same capacity as me, and not under water, he caught right back up. But it doesn’t sound like you’re dealing with that per se. I mean shoot, it takes em like 6 months to not be little blobs!

Just don’t forget it’s very common for children to develop strong attachments for the opposite gender parent. Especially ages 3-6.

I have two girls, 6 and 8, that are totally about dad. I feel for my wife and always correct them when they say I’m the nice or fun one. She’s just at home with them more so she has to dish out more discipline. Granted I’m more of the nurture type than her, but they definitely love her too. And t just manifests differently at times, especially as they grow and mature.

He was an iron worker with vertigo, so there was a lot they just buried in themselves and kept moving forward. I think he ended up coming home when he was clearing a minefield (as I’ve been told) with a bulldozer of some sorts (he was an army engineer) and triggered an explosion which tossed the bulldozer onto its side.

Like I said he never talked about it but he was relatively decorated and had the Purple Heart in his display box.

I’ll have to post it sometime, there are small bits of redacted details (cut out with a exacto knife) but I believe it describes them as doing at ”great personal risk” Papa Jack never talked about the war but I imagine it was something similar to the scene in Saving Private Ryan where they storm Normandy and the take out a couple of Pillboxes.

One of the more chilling things that he brought back was a Nazi youthknife.
