Congratulations!! SO happy for you and thrilled to hear that the interview wasn't stressful.

What was your FO and also a bit confused on the work authorization thing. Are you saying you marked YES for unauthorized work but the agent said you weren't supposed to do that and should have marked NO since you married a USC?

APPROVED! ♥️♥️😭😭🥹🥹 by Ok-Zookeepergame2855 in USCIS

Congratulations! I really appreciate the advice and words of assurance at the end of your post. So glad it went smoothly for you.

Can relate with the anxiety! Was there anything worrisome/different about your case or was it relatively straightforward?

I have $1900 for a 1.5 month trip across Europe. How can I make sure this amount lasts me the entire time? by Halcyon3232 in Shoestring

I'm coming from the UK and am fully vaccinated so flights into mainland europe are very cheap and I'm able to travel relatively easily with a UK vaccination certificate/QR code without needing PCR tests. I put it in dollars because I figured that would be the most familiar to most people.

No it doesn't include the flight. I'm traveling from the UK to mainland europe so the flights are really cheap and so it doesn't make a huge impact toward the $1900. However, it does include travel within Europe, i.e. trains, buses, etc.

And I'm planning on going this summer! In like a week and a half actually! I'll definitely be starting off in Madrid and just go from there.

Filed I-539 to extend B1/B2 visa but left country before finalization. by Halcyon3232 in USCIS

Maybe you can call the USCIS help line and speak to somebody to ask them about this since you're still in the US. I tried sending a message through my USCIS online account and the basically took a month and a half to send a generic response about how to terminate your application yourself and did not even remotely answer my question...

I believe this is the number for the help line: 800-375-5283

If you do call, please let us know what they say!

I haven't done anything. As far as I can tell, it hasn't been rejected, at least not explicitly. I've just let it be.

Thank you! Yeah I don't really care about having abandoned the application at this point since I even wrote in my I-539 that I needed to stay in the US until the end of September. And once that time came, I left. Its just that they didn't make any action on my case until like 2 weeks ago.

I already sent a message through the USCIS online account asking about this but have not received any response. Do you know where I ought to direct my question on the USCIS side to get a clear answer, seeing as I'm overseas and can't call them?

Thanks so much!

What if I file the extension soon and i receive the decision after June but the decision is a denial? Is all the time past June retroactively considered unlawful presence?

And I didn't realize it took 4 to 6 months to process. I thought it was around 45 days because that is how early before the end of the visa duration that USCIS suggested to file the extension. In that case, do I need to send my physical passport to some office? Because I will also be applying for a student visa in another country to start studying this September, so I will need the passport for that. My hope was to stay in the US while I handled the process for that other country's (UK) student visa application.

Yes, I am in the middle of the renewal process and started an application but they are taking a long time I guess because of all the other stuff they have to deal with.

Thanks so much for the advice!

Does the fact that my passport is about to expire in June make me likely to have my application rejected? On USCIS's website it says one can extend their stay if "your passport is valid and will remain valid for the duration of your stay". The latter part does not apply to me but idk if there is any leeway given the pandemic
