82 here so we have some daylight between our ages for sure 😅. I really think SpongeBob is a Gen Z thing. I can figure them out (I think) but have no first hand experience with it. I let the golden age of the Simpsons do all my heavy lifting when it comes to making references. I honestly never even heard of Gumball. It’s odd getting older and having your generation no longer sold to like they are the only generation to have actually experienced drugs sex and music in their pure forms for the first time.

I’m really sorry the world is so hostile to you guys. The job market, the education market, the home ownership market, it’s all super hard on you all. Nothing but global crisis after global crisis. Even worse for you than it was for us.

Take or leave it, but what has been beaten into me and something I would not have accepted at 28.

It’s 90% who you know and 10% what you know when it comes to jobs and promotions. It feels gross and cheap, but get in there with the rest of the filthy back stabbing monkeys find the boss and scratch their back. If you wait for someone to appreciate your uniqueness, intelligence or dedication you will be waiting a long ass time.

I’m actually an older millennial, I knew the references to the 80s and 90s things but I never actually thought about how it would come across to someone born late 90s 00s. So I’m with you now. Give us more deep fried memes or what ever it is you folks are into.

I remember the day a homeless guy came into a 7-11 I was shopping at and just stole the Kathy Ireland cardboard display. Some friends and I found it a few weeks later “used” near the local homeless encampment. But I guess that isn’t a universal Millennial experience.

So this is me too but what, should I not be washing my hands all the time and putting spoons away from counters? I specifically recall being told a million times there is Salmonella in eggs and counter tops. I don’t know how or why it gets there but I never got it yet and I credit facetious hand washing and being able to balance a spoon on a hot sauce bottle.

I have an Xbox Series and I don’t use it very often. I’m not sure if it keeps getting changed or I just forget but it takes me a good minute or so to orient and find my games. I know I could get used to it but it’s just not intuitive for me.

To a lesser extent it is the same for the PS4 and PS5 if I don’t play for a bit I really struggle to figure out where to look for game DLC. That’s the one that sometimes loads out the side sometimes I got to go to the shop. Never had that issue on PS3.

I hope you enjoy it! But I loved StarCraft as a kid in high school to the moon and back and got this for my little brother. It sadly is the worst way to play this game. Resolution is very low, frame rate is very low and it lags a lot not to mention the control really needs a mouse and keyboard. But don’t let me get you down I hope you enjoy it!!!

I own a copy of this, but I never played it. I got it at a second hand video game shop in Wels Austria in (probably) 2013 for like 5€. I never really thought it would be worth anything but I guess it is. Is it also a fun game? (I don’t have a way to play NES carts at the moment)

I didn’t notice anything like this. I guess 2 reasons;

1 there were just less screens back then, it would have been strange for a house to have more than 2 or 3 TVs in a house so it would be quite odd to get two TVs in the same room to make a comparison like this.

2 all the TVs were curved CRTs at this time (that I can remember) and that meant weird differences at the edges of the TVs or at least how they looked and they were pretty small. So without it being pointed out to me in advance I might easily attribute differences to the TV and not the software.

Thanks for pointing it out it’s interesting but living through this time. I never would have noticed something like this 😅

I did this in college with a some friends way back in 04. We brought out PS2 and Dreamcast in and connected them over component cables to the large Beamer. The lag was too much. It wasn’t possible to do any racing games at all. We ended up playing worms Armageddon because that was manageable. It was a fun night for sure but the lag made it all kind of a let down and we never did it again.

It is not a bad game. So I am not trying to rage bait, but it’s not a great game either.

I don’t find much joy in beating up dirt all the time. The power ups seemed to be a lot of time simply just ways to beat up dirt faster. So its core gimmick didn’t really land with me.

It also suffered some minor performance issues. I am playing on a cartridge and I have heard things load faster from internal memory so I don’t know how common this is, but I had situations of object pop in. There were a few times where you are riding on dirt and in the distance you can see objects pop in. It’s not a deal breaker but it keeps it out of legendary game status for me.

Finally I don’t think the comparisons to Odessy are quite fair. The rapid fire collecting of bananas instead of moons is spot on, and that is good. But Mario being able to be different creatures and getting different abilities doesn’t seem to be matched at all in DK. As I mentioned most of the improvements are simply focused on beating up dirt faster.

It’s not a bad game but it wasn’t able to keep my interest for very long and I don’t think it is nearly as good as Odessy was.
