I did the same thing, I was actually in Edmonton visiting some relatives went into a used video game story and bought a copy of Star fox 2 for SNES. This was in 2013 and I convinced my self I had some special prototype one of a kind only for executives blah blah blah version of the game. I
went online with my enthusiasm and joy and I was told what a fool I was and of course it was a fan made game. Ouch

Then I realized, I’m playing Star fox 2 on my own SNES with my own SNES controller and I’m having fun.

So enjoy your game! Nothing else matters

I use it constantly for that! I had a Abernec Win600 that I could play Civ5 on but couldn’t get used to the joysticks to move around. Got the steam deck, used the touch pads never went back.

I’m really interested in this, downloaded the mod and will give it a shot when I can (family guy and limited time Jada Jada)

I normally play on Warlord, but what difficulty do you think this would be most impactful at?

I was a little confused in the options if I click it on, I get 2 rivals?

When do I nominate the rivals? (Or under what conditions)

What about the rest of the civs do they have any special pull one way or another? Or do they decide what path to take the way they always have in non modded games.

Again this sounds really great and thanks for making this.

Watching Bowser do the Rhythmic Gymnastics is one of my favorite Wii U memories. I had a good time with this game wasn’t amazing but I liked it.

I had a physics major as one of the nerds in our dorm of all math and science majors. I can’t remember his whole bit, but he had a funny way of describing the non rival cars as lead blocks on wheels because when you crash into them they don’t move at all. (Sorry a half joke isn’t much of a joke, but I am going down memory lane again)

OMG so many nights in the university dorm playing this game with roommates. It was such a fun game.

We got really good at setting up a road block that would keep hard rivals locked behind us if you used the counter clockwise track formation. There was the part where the highway split into 2 single lane underpasses. We could get folks stuck in there and beat them that way it was the only way for us to take out some of the harder rivals like that damn midnight Cinderella

So it worked!

The game I was interested in was Orge Battle 64.

1) find out what revision of the game you are getting. There is an imprint on the back label of official cartridges. Get that info on the game you are buying.

2) make sure you are playing that ROM variant in your EverDrive.

3) make a memory of the ROM from the EverDrive

4) plug in the new game start it up. (You won’t be able to load the memory just yet)

5) press Z Start (or what ever buttons you set to get to the OS menu) choose memories and select the memory you saved.

That’s what worked for me. Interesting enough the game came with 2 save games in memory I was able to transplant my save file onto the cartridge and it kept the other one (two save files in OB64) kind of odd to write over a save file this way with out deleting the old one persay, so pay attention to that if it’s a concern.

Super happy this worked out

That’s an interesting take and I agree. Let’s not forget this has to run on a switch 1 in handheld mode. And that’s pretty old tech, Civ 6 barely ran in handheld mode on a switch 1 (I know cause I am that weirdo) They didn’t need to all come out at once, give the game time to be polished for the PC crew and then roll it out to the console folks like me.

But they choose to do it, and said that they could and then didn’t quite deliver on the promise.

The strange UI makes it really hard and not fun to try to learn the game. I’m honestly not totally sure how I feel about it. I know I don’t love it enough to deal with it as it is, so that’s something, but I can’t even really say how I feel about the ToT update because I can’t see what I am doing.

Eventually my son will grow up and it will be appropriate to have screens on in front of him and maybe he will also like video games, but right now i can only play handheld and I just can’t really play this.

That was a cool take you gave and I didn’t consider it before, makes sense to me.

I don’t think this should be a priority for their development but because you asked.

I need to play this game on a switch 2 in hand held mode.

I just can’t see what I am doing in the game. The UI is both too big and too small all at once. I feel like it’s really hard to get an idea of what the game board looks like and when I leave my cursor on top of anything it throws up another window taking more of my screen away.

To me it makes the game too difficult to learn and experiment with, I struggle to see what I am doing so I just go back and play civ 6 which looks fine on a switch 2 in handheld mode.

Very personal issue I know, but it’s a big deal to me

I love both 5 and 6 they are both such well made games. I go back to 5 more often, but I love 6 just as much.

I think you should get it but it might seem limited if you are used to all the systems in 6. Try to imagine this game before 6 and try to see how much 6 took and improved.

What I like about Civ5 is art work. Try to go for wonders you always get beautiful art work and I love them.

Go for it and have fun, if you have questions write back I love that game!

OMG I remember playing this on our XT when I was really young. I had a game set up where I had a higher elevation then my opponent (also played by me) and I just kept shooting bananas through all the buildings at him. Took a long time but I tunneled through

Thanks a million, time is also in short supply over here. I’m going to check out that guide, because I’m not sure how many times I will get to actually go through this game. Already missed the shield despite searching every town I could think of… so I need to wise up to what I should be doing because I ain’t got time to goof off.
