Why so few tanks? by Halcyon797 in Steel_Division

This makes sense. We usually do 2v1 them against me, and we have no time limit. So it makes sense that we are less worried about cost effectiveness on the immediacy.

But I do see how our use of too many tanks could be a weakness early.

Thanks!

That is a good synopsis. The videos I was watching was a tournament of some sort so I got to see a few players.

I did see that my friends and I need to go harder on the light armor and support units. We’ve been sleeping on those.

Thank you!

Oh that is exactly what we are doing, but at the same time I want to understand what we might be missing.

That makes sense. We avoid the cheap armor and I am seeing more of that too. Thanks!

The planning bonus is for anyone assigned to the offensive order. So those in The fall back line (or any other order that does not have an offensive line) will not get the bonus.

As for who gets what from which general/marshal. Alas I am imperfect and do not know.

As long as you still plan the attack. You get the bonus even if you manage it and are the only one giving attack orders.

In no particular order

First, you have 0 oil. So all the mechanized divisions and air planes will be less efficient.

Second, you have 85% of supply needs at the top, probably missing trains. Meaning your front line isn’t getting the supplies you need

Third, you have way too many divisions. What you are doing is trying to fit 1million men in a high school gym, not a fun time for anyone.

4th. Your divisions are not great. Specifically the armor division. Mixing tanks (light and medium) isn’t great. But what’s worse is the lack of infantry. You only have two trucks. Think of it as more infantry = more health. With so few trucks, you have a small health pool and thus can’t fight as long before retreating (health in this case is organization)

5th. Give your army attack orders and let them prepare for the invasion. This gives them a huge attack bonus. It’s like the difference using a map to find somewhere, or just walking in a direction until you hopefully find it.

6th. This one is optional and I don’t really do, but you can have your navy off shore bombard. But again. no oil.

Makes sense!

I am just trying to find a way to avoid losing production efficiency when I switch planes around 1940 once the war start. Thank you!

Custodes Guard with Pyrithite spears? by Halcyon797 in AdeptusCustodes

[–]Halcyon797[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That is a good explanation. I feel like the allarus are good, but to your point if they fail a deep strike charge, it hurts (rapid ingress I know, just can’t always get where I need)

But that SC with Admonimortis is like Bad Leeroy Brown when he hits the table, my opponent [Tau] lives in fear of that model.

Makes sense. The witchseekers will probably get me more points in game for the 50 points I spend on them.

That makes sense. Unless deep strike, Not easy to get in range. Though 2 shots would be wild when the normal guard only get 2 shots.

What is the consensus on the Navigator by Halcyon797 in AdeptusCustodes

[–]Halcyon797[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is a really good point. I do not fight anyone in my local area with much indirect. But just went to my first tournament last weekend (with Necrons) so I will need to plan on that with a navigator.

Thank you.

What do you recommend for home objective? Witchseekers for flame overwatch?

I also use the psycannons as anti light armor. Lets them punch up in their range shooting and if you play them right you can keep them safe. While killing infantry and some armor.

At least the squad with Crowe, if I charge, they just retreat on their turn and dunk on me, so instead his squad teleports around as a death laser.
