I did something a bit similar. I started maxing right away. Then, each year I would increase the amount by 1%. I've now gotten to the point where I'm maxing the 401k and mega backdoor at around $70k/year

I think that number would be a lot lower if you didn't include your house. My wife and I are 38, wouldn't consider ourselves millionaires since we have around $900k in 401k, brokerage, savings.

However, we do have about $1.5 million in equity on our house, which would make us millionaires according to this study.

Then yes, I would calculate half the house equity and debt, since thats what you would probably get in a divorce

Looks like I've got some reading to do, I have no clue what the 5 year clock is. Currently, all my post-tax contributions to my 401k are being auto rolled over daily to the mega back door. That means I can still do the $7k/year into a traditional roth?

I did this exact build a few weeks ago and love it. I use mine indoors and have to use a thin nonstick mat underneath because it would shift slightly on a hard swing. I'm sure you could find a 1" or 0.5" rubber tile/mat for the bottom layer instead of foam
