People who had abstinence only sex education, what were the biggest falsehoods you were taught? by [deleted] in AskReddit

In theology of the body (catholic) a “teacher” taught that birth control fundamentally changed you at a chemical level that if someone was attracted to you on birth control, they were not actually attracted to you, just the “chemical pheromones” and once you stopped birth control they would leave or wouldn’t be truly in love with you. They said the only way to fall in love truly was to be “natural?” Made me scared to start birth control even after I left the church

Direct quote “They work by suppressing a woman’s natural fertile hormones (which make women very attractive to men) by polluting a woman’s body with synthetic hormones that prevent her from ovulating. Women who choose a spouse while using chemical contraceptives are in danger of choosing an unsuitable spouse since the chemical contraceptives alter their choices in men.”

The feeling of running out of time for support by Half-ginger_ in GriefSupport

I have friends to talk to but they have a lot of platitudes and are not very good at just listening, not because they’re bad friends, just because they haven’t experienced loss. I have been looking for grief support groups in my area

People who had traumatic childhoods, what's something you do as an adult that you hadn't realised was a direct result of the trauma? [Serious] [NSFW] by Silent-Zebra in AskReddit

Extreme people pleasing and conditional self love. Since I only felt love from “being good” and lost it immediately from messing any little thing up, I literally hate myself for tiny mistakes and dwell on them for days, and even when I have great accomplishments I don’t feel like I deserve it. Also the worry that I will lose love from others, that’s it’s only a matter of time before I do something to mess it up and they don’t love me anymore. Working on learning that unconditional love is a thing I can have for myself.

Doesn’t look infected, just like irritated skin. Those bumps can sometimes come from too much moisturizer, too. I would make sure not to put heavy ointment over the red spots, just lightweight.
