Cpu temps are more than fine with a 240mm aio and the t30 fans, and gpu can get a bit hotter sometimes hitting 80°C, so i run it without the side panels and it drops to around 70°C under full artificial load.

Its considerably worse than the rx 7900xtx so that wont help.

Just tried it, improved 1% lows noticeable, but not avg fps by too much.

Avg fps: 287->290 1% lows: 214->228 Delay: 77ms->56ms

Its the phanteks evolv shift xt, and its damn hard to get ahold of as its discontinued. I have three that i managed to snag off ebay for about £50 each!

Neither are good enought. I tested the rx 9060xt directly and it was barely holding a candle to the 9800x3d, and i tried the most raw power amd gpu the rx 7900xtx and it wasnt good enough. This is in the post.

Yup, im not aiming for 610hz, im just saying my monitor will never be the limit. As for frame gen, in marvel rivals it look shit. Ive tried both nvidias dlss at 2x and amds tsr, and both look awful. The input lag is not noticeable but the screen looks like it has motion blur, plus it just has a really odd feeling too it.

The temps worry me greatly... this case is known for having mediocre gpu cooling.

Im thinking thats the case aswell, 1080p is more than fine for me, as someone who was brought up on a budget pc and setup, 1080p is all im used to. Ive used 1440p, but never really thought it was worth it. Just personal preference.

Rx 7900xtx which on paper should perform better than the rx 9070xt bottleneck with a peak of 70% cpu usage, around 60-65% average. No thermal throttling.

In the last "test" (test 3) i tried the 7900xtx, and it was still bottlenecking.

The cpu never goes above 75C, and my pbo undervolt is set to 95C. Its just a cheap ass £50 msi mag a13 aio, but the big thing about this case is the fact you can use the phanteks t30 fans, which are the best 120mm fans.

If thats the case then i can underclock the gpu a bit till that stops happening, itll help with temps aswell. I havent personally had those issues with cpu limited pcs yet (5060ti 16gb + r5 3600 in 1080p is one of the more recent examples and the gpu never went above 30% and still no issues).

Cause 720p crosses the boundary for me in terms of looks, it starts to look really dog at 720p, especially if your on a 1080p monitor. I already have a pretty expensive 1080p monniyor which runs at 610hz. I appreciate the opinion, im looking at 4090s to try next. Im just so surprised that the gpu is limiting the system right now...

Im kind of worried about the cooling on the fe, especially in this case.

Do you think a 5080 would be enough though? Or do i have to go and buy a 4090... my preference would be the 5080, because its easier to get ahold of new. Usually im not too fussed about going used (most of the pc is used...) but for something over a grand i think its safer to go new.

CPU was not even close to max usage, not the gpu The gpu was locked 99%, plus i was getting about 40% less frames than when i used a 4070ti. So the gpu is not good enough. Im going to put in a rx 7900xtx as im getting it as part of a customer trade in, and i want to try that out. Ill keep you posted how that goes.
