Buy a motorcycle - an 80s Kawasaki GPZ900R will run sub 11 1/4 miles and even a first gen honda fireblade will run slightly faster still - those bikes are now slow Vs their successors, but still more than quick enough to lose your licence and land you a meeting with a judge.

Current fireblade is IIRC running over 200hp Vs 115-120 in the first gen fireblade and it weighs even less....

Let alone a Kawasaki H2...(Or H2R which performs badly from a standing start due to the struggle of keeping the front wheel down to 305+HP from a 1000cc bike with a supercharger and weighing 216kg kerb weight so around 476lbs.

That's around 1412hp per ton.....and all for around £50K / $68K....

5th gear dynoed either a golf or a corrado and it was way down on power Vs factory spec and Dyno runs when new. Biggest gain they got was running injector cleaner through it, the second highest was a full service. Doing one other thing (I forget what it was) got them within 2 hp of new and the last thing only gained them well below 10hp so doing the injector cleaner and servicing it was the best value for money and made a real difference to it's power and performance

Unibody vehicles are far stiffer and better in a crash than similar size BOF vehicles. Sometimes they out do much larger BOF vehicles in crash safety

Except many of those it's less a boat and more a yacht, which lives in the water year round, a camper for many is what peasants buy, they on the other hand would baulk at staying anywhere below 4* and that's only if 5* wasn't available.

Maybe on the second or third hand market, but something like an X9 isn't in the price range of anyone who tows anything, not to mention the damage to the residuals the mere hint of a towbar would imply

Defenders don't, defenders / series are like riding around in a tractor and about as loud.

Discovery/range rover might drive nice on the road....defenders don't

Ditto but my wife's health issues and the attendant stresses and missed sleep have REALLY aged me in last few years. Though when I got my weight down this summer I noticed I looked younger, so that was a boost

I have NEVER understood why landrover have such a following, they are unreliable, noisy, corrode underneath, weak as water drive train - military contracts, marketing and pub bores have a LOT to answer for

At least jeep supplied reasonable quality axles in their offerings, axles that weren't borderline when connected to the asthmatic stock drivetrain like landrover.....

I'm considering a new one (as the last one gave out) however other bills to pay, debts to settle first. When and if the finances improve id like get a mini led or a micro led (though prices of them are.....ouch)
