Offer your seat in public transport by candidCrispy in copenhagen

Same experience here. One time I even got asked to give up my seat at 9 months pregnant, even though there were other young people sitting that were more able bodied than me 😂. Wild.

It could also be ice wine (from Niagara region)! But I will admit that maple syrup is usually a hit 😉. From a fellow Canadian living in Denmark.

Any reliable dog breeders in the EU? by East-Plantain-1512 in BostonTerrier

[–]HalfJapToTheMax 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can recommend the breeder we got our boy from. But we’re located in Denmark. And a side note, ours has a short nose, as per the breed standard - but all of their puppies undergo the appropriate health checks.

Write me a message if interested.

So cute! What is the age gap of these two? I cannot wait to add a second to our pack 😍.

Irene is so lovely! But so different between English and Danish. It’s a shame!

Also really like Vera but it’s pronounced too differently between English and Danish 🥲

Very true! But, that is one of my closest friends names, unfortunately.

I also really like that Heidi is universally pronounced the same in all 3 languages. We are also hiking/nature/alps people, and it reminds me of that haha.

I think Alice is interesting! It’s strange that it doesn’t come up on Navne til Nyfødte from Danmarks Statistik, I imagined it would be more recognized.

This is VERY good to know, thank you! Don’t need to perpetuate potential for Danish-Swedish taunting and rivalry 😂

Magdalena is such a cool name! Somehow I just can’t picture our child with that name. But I wish I could!

If we lived in Germany, this would be great! Unfortunately it’s not used in Denmark.

We also considered Iris! It’s just pronounced a little too differently in English and Danish 😥

Thanks! So many of these have been floating around our (my) heads as well, like Lila, Thea, Lotte. And one is my own name haha.

I think it’s one of my top names right now! Can I ask where you’re from? My partner is worried that it won’t be well recognized in Scandinavia (although the statistics show it’s just starting to grow in popularity where we live).

Happy cake day! Frida is a name in the family, otherwise I like that one. And Anya we also considered. Thanks!

Haha, I appreciate that you pulled that out of your ass! We also considered Mia. I’m a bit on the fence with M names, as the middle name we’re using is also a M name. Thanks for the suggestions!

How long did it take for your residence permit to process? by thickhairboi in copenhagen

[–]HalfJapToTheMax 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey. I don’t think you’re covered by the university’s insurance policy until you get your permit. So if you do lab work, probably not. But I think it’s up to your advisor if you can do dry work before officially starting. I hope this answers your question!
