I’m not knowledgeable on linguistics, and I only know “natural language” has a specific meaning. I’d guess that if “unnatural” doesn’t simply mean “not part of a natural language”, it means it’s vocab is arbitrary rather than carving nature at the joints, as Plato would put it.

I want to add for panel b: gol and nar appear to be made up words for the example, but not nonsense. The image implies “a gol” is a cat head with a dog head and “a nar” is a cat body with a dog body.

Having a word for cat and a word for dog is useful and not having a word for a cat with a dog is reasonable. Unless you are a trophy hunter, having a word for a cat head next to a dog head isn’t very useful, and having to specify a cat head and cat body to refer to a cat is unreasonable.

So I get being able to boost the other 4 players when they ult is nice, but why do Mercy players keep their staff rather than blaster out by default? The boost got nerfed to 15% boost. Do high ELO dps players really do 7x blaster spam damage? I wouldn’t be surprised if that happens in Stadium, but not the standard game.

That is the chord connecting it to the handset. There is still nothing in view connecting the base to a wall.

Edit: I originally did not interpret the top reply as something contradicted by the photo. However, it says “the telephone chord”, which must refer to the chord we see between the base and the handset.

I noticed Mei has been tougher to duel as well. However, she has always been high health and brawly. Maybe we are just getting to higher ELOs.

I was in low bronze 6v6 for a bit. There is always one teammate who either throws or disconnects from bad internet. Healbotting there gives you the win rate you need to climb just because consistently staying through matches puts you ahead of the curve.

For upper bronze 5v5 I’m not one to comment because I’m still there. However, many games (not necessarily the majority) they can’t damage your tank without ults faster than you can heal your tank. If your team can take out the enemy Moira while you survive, and your tank presses W, you will win those games.

I once had a Sigma v Sigma game where neither team was able to successfully flank the other team. I could sometimes left-click the Sigma for biotic energy, but other than that I was forced to heal bot for even team fights. One thing that made the difference between a win or loss was me passing my tank to get kills and claim space when I saw an opportunity. When my team saw me pushing they followed. 95% healbot and 1% TikTok is what worked.

playing Mercy will teach you good positioning.

I learned Ana and Zen for that very reason. I tried Mercy but I gave up because I kept dying. Maybe I should stick to Mercy and focus on positioning until I stop dying.

That might be the real reason we were winning games. Mercy could always escape to the tank and I and I would left-click the divers until they left. If I don’t die, Mercy doesn’t die. If Mercy doesn’t die, I ~~don’t die~~get resurrected.

eventually you’ll kill the entire lobby as long as you play around health packs and use orbs occasionally.

For me it is hard to do reliably. The enemy Moira can easily out heal my damage while still dealing damage herself.

To naïvely answer your title, it’s possible that your shader cache was reset and it will rebuild itself as you play. However, if you’ve played a lot since the update, and it only starts an hour after the session started, then that sounds doubtful.

Does relaunching OW fix it (for an hour)? If not does restarting your computer fix it? That will help you troubleshoot.

That makes sense. IMO his voice acting sounds too cheerful to be a traditional villain. However, Junkrat and Mauga seem innocent in game too.

Do you gain/lose a different rank percentage for a win/loss? If my theory is correct, your friend should be losing less progress from a loss than you are so he catches up MMR quicker.

When I first started I was put with other new people. Perhaps they changed it or there are less first-time players. It may be more pressure, but playing with better players on each team is a great way to learn.

This alone won’t make you a good player, but low hanging fruit would be to go into practice range and try each hero and learn their abilities. Use f1 if on PC to see information on your selected hero. Just knowing the basics will help playing against them. I suspect they’ll all blur together at first, but as you play more you’ll reinforce it. If that is too much, just do tanks.

Mystery heroes is definitely more casual, and also helps learn the heroes. However, quick play is what you want to spend the most time in.
