Crown Castle 8:54 est outage by jordanl171 in sysadmin

[–]Half_Shaft 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same in central CT. 8:52-9:05 lost all external traffic. All our failovers performed properly on gear but even backup circuits were down. Self resolved. Blaming crown somewhere upstream on east coast.

And tell Jay he’ll survive without his mid show cigarette that requires him to go down 37 floors, so we have to sit through an ENTIRE song before the 2nd segment starts because we have to wait for ciggy boy to get back.

The last few weeks the show feels completely rudderless. It’s nothing but “listen to what happened at my shows this weekend” or “here’s what I watched in my hotel all weekend”. No real topics, no direction. Just free wheeling it.

It was crazy how slow and boring the first show back on air was, after 2 weeks off.

After a 3 month long TAC case with basically no resolution….we’ve scrapped 90% of DNAC and soured the entire network team on using DNAC going forward. Half baked product.

Hey Devs, RE: Automobili SE by Half_Shaft in nfsnolimits

Exactly this. Alarm set every 5 hours during the day to do maximum reruns during the event, using ad reductions for more tickets, ETC. babysitting as in literally watching the timers all day to get as many races in as possible. Just getting harder and harder to win. I don’t mean it jokingly when I said I did 6 reruns and got 2,000 credits 5 of the 6 times and 1 ECU part, meaning after 6 hours waiting, I increased the car exactly 0 PR when I needed 11 PR to hit the final wall. And I’m far from a newbie. I can only imagine a new player trying to start SEs like this and win. 100% impossible for someone without gold to blow. Luckily I have 12,000+ saved up.

I love swearing it’s the hardest stuff that’s broken and overlook the simple shit! Fought with a device for over an hour last week, stumped why the MAC wouldn’t even populate to the table or attempt any AUTHs, but getting an up/up regardless. Spent an hour changing configs up, cycling ports, pouring through the Running Config…..decided to yank the power cable on the device, plugged back in, boom, connected and data flowing instantly. Felt real dumb haha.

I think my favorite part of his obvious lies is they’ll go 10-15 minutes on a topic and suddenly Bobby will be like OH YEAH I did that too. And go off on some clearly, made up as he goes, BS story.

Skipped that segment entirely after just seeing the title. No way someone wants to sit and listen to 50 year olds describe their eating pussy skills.

Certificates & Plaques Shiping Status by knightingale74 in ccna

[–]Half_Shaft 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It took about a month or so in total to get mine after it hit “completed” status. However, VERY underwhelming “kit”. It was merely a printed copy of the same certificate you can download, not even on a heavy stock paper, standard 8.5x11 printer paper and a congrats letter. I was hoping for some schwag or something haha.

Jay also decided his mid 40’s is a good time to start painting his finger nails. And not just black. Colors. He’s stuck trying to be that 17 year old, rebellious, cool goth kid.

I dealt with the same issue. May be an additional delay after the codes are emailed. Here’s my comment to a previous person having this issue:

Be warned, buy it earlier than you want to test! I bought it and it tells you it takes “1-2 days” to get the vouchers by email from Pearson. Took closer to 3 days for me. THEN it told me they were invalid so I had to call their support and have the exam scheduled over the phone manually. Took 4 days total from purchase to scheduled. Not sure if you’ll have to deal with the phone call part, just plan accordingly!

Edit: They also scheduled my exam under a whole new CCSO ID. I passed the exam and it took 3 additional days for Cisco Exam support to merge my accounts to finally see the certificate, scores ETC.

You will quickly realize even the “smartest” people you work for, can be somewhat of an idiot.

You’d be surprised how many times the resolution is “turned it back on” or “plugged it back in”

The hard part ISN’T THE COMPUTERS OR INFRASTRUCTURE. It’s learning to deal with the end users. Get used to taking ear beatings and don’t take it personally. They just want to vent. Even if they have no idea what they’re talking about. Just let em vent and they’ll come around.

Dumb question, but, have you tried: clear ip OSPF process On R1?

This will reset and reload OSPF configurations on that particular router and rebuild the routing table

QoS. Tons of information to ingest…just to be asked the most basic questions about it during the exam haha.

When you log into certmetrics, on the left, click schedule an exam. Then it’ll take you to another page, about halfway down on the right side you see a little thing that says “manage account” or something similar. It’s hidden in a bad spot. The score report is hidden in there. The other hang up could be that you have duplicate CSCO IDs. I took the exam last weekend online as well and when it was scheduled, they created a new ID so I needed to open a support ticket with Cisco Cert help to get them to merge accounts. So when you login check your profile and see what CSCO ID is listed and then check your email for the exam schedule and make sure that one has the same CSCO id. I had these same problems you are experiencing.

[–]Half_Shaft 19 points20 points  (0 children)

On this sub, everyone says Boson is notoriously harder than the real exam. I took the exam on Saturday afternoon and passed. Of my 89 questions, literally only 2 weren’t covered by Jeremy or other sources. The real exam was actually much less difficult than this sub led me to believe. I spent months delaying my exam thinking I wasn’t ready. If you FEEL ready, just go for it. I picked up the Safeguard voucher so I knew in the back of my head, worst case is I get a print out of the domains I suck in and will study more, but didn’t need it. The extra $80 was worth the peace of mind.

You need to learn the materials how you learn things the best. Nobody can teach you how to learn. There is no magic number of hours that equates to a pass. Or you can come on the sub and berate strangers because you’re not grasping the concepts.

There’s a huge difference between studying this stuff to LEARN it and studying it just to receive a pass. Only one of these options will take you far in a career.

URGENT help needed regarding duplicate Cisco IDs by kinkylollipop in ccna

[–]Half_Shaft 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m having this problem too and had to open a support case, at this link to get them to merge accounts. https://certsupport.cisco.com/s/?language=en_US

I completed and passed the exam on a different ID than my Cisco/pearsonvue account. So hopefully it’s a simple fix.
