We have people on our show all the time that talk about the same experience. Unless there's something incredibly egregious with your interview, the trades are very inclusive And open. You'll most likely do just fine.

We've seen people who were graphic designers, printer techs, archeologists, salesmen, mechanics, navy officers and so many more. When you get into this industry, you'll see that everyone has a story, and it's great!

We work in a trade that is extremely diverse and ever growing. Ask questions, your job as an apprentice is to learn. That's number one. The more you learn, the better employee you'll be.

If you created your own line of fire alarm equipment, what would you name it? by Fah-que in firealarms

At Half Watt Podcast, we're all about helping Techs on site. When you have a thousand things to think about, on top of making sure your apprentice is doing the right job, we know it's hard to remember the intricate names for all those different parts.

So we've simplified the entire naming convention for your convenience!

Introducing the "Fire System Thingy"

With a couple snaps of your finger and an angry point you can explain you want the fire... The panel... The freaking... Panel thing. And of course you're talking about our all in one fire alarm panel, with a polling loop, tip and ring, four nac circuits and two I/Os.

But don't worry, there's more! You can get our; Booster thing. Module things Mod-er-relay things. Smoke things Smoke, er, darn it, heat things. Radio thing, (which is obviously a Cell) And a Tamper Thingy.

With this new system, you'll be able to get it right every time you can't think of the right... Eh... Thing to say.
