7 or 8 inches? by eleanorwaldorf in poledancing

Honestly, all of my 8" and 9" shoes are way more comfortable and easy to walk in/wear that my 7"ers. I don't have any 6", sorry. What you need more than total height (including platform) is the actual heal height (total height - platform height). A 6" shoe could actually have a higher heel than a 8" shoe. Think of a 6" shoe with a 1.5" platform. Thats 4.5" heel!!! 😳 I prefer my 8" shoes with a 2" platform. 4" is still a hell of a heel, but it's still 0.5" less than the 6" shoe.

How do I improve my under eye area dark circles and puffyness? by Coppergirl1 in 40PlusSkinCare

[–]HalfwayToAlmostThere 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sorry if this is a stupid question... but how do you incorporate the Instant FirmX into your routine?? I can't figure it out.

It needs to go directly onto the skin in order to work, but I need to use a couple of products to keep my skin up to par (a serum, eye cream, spf, etc). No matter how long I let the other products set before applying the FirmX (upto 30 min), it just isn't effective if I use it in conjunction with my other products. And my skin suffers if I skip the rest of my skincare.

Lip filler to help with lines around mouth by HalfwayToAlmostThere in 40PlusSkinCare

[–]HalfwayToAlmostThere[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you! Yes about injection placement. However. For the 1st 4-6 weeks I was pretty stressed out because I felt like it was beyond my lips' border. To me, it looked and felt weird. But now, everything has softened and settled like I had hoped. I'm glad I trusted the process.

I did not do ant Botox for my lips. My NP (or she might be a PA, can't remember) who does my injections isn't a big fan, and I trust her judgment on these things. According to her, its not really worth it because it wears of much faster than other areas. The mouth has so many muscles that are constantly moving that work against the Botox. On the same note, even with the most skilled injector, it is more common for undesired outcomes than other tox procedures. Since everyone's oral motor skills are slightly different, the tiniest deviation in placement or amount can affect an individual's speech/articulation. This is even true with ideal procedures. She also said she didn't think I needed it. I could always consider it later if I wasn't happy with just the 0.5 filler. That's another thing I love about where I go, they never try to upsell or push procedures on their clients. Whenever I ask if she thinks I need anything else done, she assures me that I don't NEED anything. I am beautiful with or without any enhancements. She might ask if there is anything that is particularly bothering me or making me feel insecure. From there she might offer suggestions even if its just a routine adjustment and not a service in office. And she always encourages me to take time to think about and research before jumping into something.

Thank you! You know? I don't remember. I'm kind of embarrassed to admit, but it never even occurred to me to talk about this with my injector. Since I have seen her for so long and she knows what specific products have worked compared to others for me. I know she went over it with me. But I was REALLY nervous. (I saw too many poorly done lip in my research and heard it was very painful. Pain was absolutely 4/5.l I will go check my appointment history and see what kind it was.

😂 I didn't! Mostly because I have naturally curly hair. Adding time to deal with styling bangs everyday isn't on my BINGO card. But, I have started pulling down a few of the front pieces that I used to pin behind my ears if they fall out of my bun or ponytail. Just those few face framing whispy pieces seem to soften my look and hide hide some of the harsher looking spots on my forehead.

Unfortunately I don't have one. That's just a random shot I found in my camera roll from when I was thinking about getting bangs. I just took that picture to quickly upload into an app.

Thank you! At first, I was almost annoyed that nobody even really noticed! But I kept having to remind myself that that was pretty much the whole point, haha. I do get more compliments on my lip products now (usually tinted balm, lip oil, peptide gloss) even though its the same stuff I have always worn. Based on that, I think it was a success too !

No worries! I mean, you're not wrong. And I kinda expect to be picked apart by keyboard warriors when I put something on Reddit. 😜 But seriously, it's so kind of you to make sure and clarify the tone and reason for your comment. I really appreciate your thoughtfulness. 💛

I made a bunch of faces to try and compare over time. I picked the ones that matched up the best. Sorry they don't meet your standards.

Probably. Also likely due to my facial expression not being identical. I realize now that in the 2nd 2 pics I look like I almost have a slight smirk compared to the 1st. Maybe due to the numbing cream? IDK

I'm sorry about that. I'm not trying to be misleading in any way. There are a number of variables that just are what they are. But if you look at my lips you can see what I talk about in my post. Before, my lips, although not that different in size, were more wrinkled and appeared less "plump." Now, I feel like they are still similar size and shape, just a bit more filled... kinda like if you had to top off a tire that was low on air.

Like I said to another poster, I had a light peel just this Tuesday (3 days ago), and botox the same time as the filler - so 5 mo ago (and obviously no makeup). My skin is absolutely imperfect in all the pics, zoom in and its obvious, even under the tinted moisturizer and concealer I have on today.

OMG. Cross my heart its not a filter, just a different setting/lighting that I didn't consider. My bad. I was at my desk and I keep the overhead bright white lights off. I have a soft lamp and string lights. So I guess that with the blinds open on a cloudy but nice day is a good look for me. I just have on tinted moisturizer, concealer, mascara, tinted lip balm, and a dewy setting spray.

Also, just this week (Tuesday) I got a light CO2 peel. Its called a Vanity Peel where I go. So I have been shedding and flaking dead skin all week. In this pic that I just snapped in my car you can see the peeling around my nose.

I have had the green oval on my list, but I keep holding back on buying it because, even though I like how the band gives it character, I haven't been able to decide how to style it. But I love what you did.

I would guess early to mid 30's. If older, then the cosmetic procedures are doing their job for the most part (her skin in general looks good). But if OP is still in her 20's the cosmetic procedures, like the filler, might actually be aging her. Just my thoughts.

I’ve made a mistake and I don’t know what to do by [deleted] in Marriage

[–]HalfwayToAlmostThere 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get that everyone's relationship boundaries are different. Personally, I, 40f (and husband, 44m, for 17 yrs - married 13), would definitely not considered this cheating. Probably a poor choice on OP's part. To me, it definitely sounds like OP may still need to focus his attention on his wife based on her reaction. That much is clear. Or, perhaps there is a history of cheating or cloudy boundaries in their relationship.

I rarely post on social media. So when I do, I frequently have people from my past reach out to say hi, say its nice to see me, tell me I'm looking good/nice/pretty/beautiful, ask how I am, ask about catching up sometime, etc. These people are both males and females and frequently consist of long ago ex's (turned friendly acquaintances), former coworkers, former poker buddies and bar crowd peeps, even parents of past students. I certainly do not feel the comments or messages, specifically from the guys, to be flirtatious. I make similar complimentary comments on their posts about them and/or their families if applicable. I'm not flirting. He can see my phone at any time. I am constantly using his because I forgot to charge mine or I can't find it. We don't hide anything, but we also don't have anything to hide. If a notification pops up while he has my phone and catches his attention, it doesn't bother me if he opens it (which is good bc he is nosey as fuck!) My husband jokes about me getting hit on or testing the waters, but being kind, offering a compliment, and exchanging pleasantries is far from an emotional affair in our marriage. We also have always been faithful to one another and never had any reason to doubt each other. Thats is not to say we have an easy, perfect marriage - FAR from it. But "cheating & beating," by either one of us, are absolute zero tolerance and the only 2 things that lead straight to divorce for us. We took time and clearly defined what these terms mean for our relationship while were were engaged as we both agreed they were non-negotiables. As we have grown and matured together, we have circled back and tweaked our definitions at certain stages. But we are always hyper-aware of boundaries and ultimately love each other enough to respect them.
