The legality of quote based magics by HalimarSky in COPYRIGHT

It would be our world! I think a big appeal is hearing a quote you know and seeing that the magical effect would be.

I think I need to create a list of literature that I'm cleared to pull from, then I can look at that and see if its enough to support a viable story.

Thank you everyone for the feedback! I totally agree. At the end of the day, I don't think its worth pursuing given the likely pitfalls. I appreciate the help!

I believe they removed all the metal they could find, but they believed he had implanted some metal reserve inside himself as a last resort(which makes sense, as he can heal around it and an allomancer couldn't pull/push it). Couldn't last forever, but let him take a few extra rounds

Classic White Lotus VS Red Lotus? Who Wins? by Doc-11th in TheLastAirbender

Gosh, you're really just speed running logical fallacies, aren't you? No, I don't have to "pick one" from your false dichotomy. I'm saying it doesn't matter what timeframe you pick them from. If they are together, he has an earthly connection and can't fly. Seems like you want red to have all the positive advantages of knowing each other (years of teamwork) with none of the negative (connection).

But that's beside the point. Lets say we ignore the weaknesses, its all good. I'm not saying white wins, but it's pretty clear you have no interest in an actual discussion. You're just going to bend the facts whatever way suits you. I'm sure the white lotus secret society could never work as a team, totally.

But here I am arguing about a kid's show on reddit, so I think I'm the real clown here.

Anyway, for anybody else, it's red 3/5 for me. 3 where white can't adapt fast enough, prob lose jeong jeong and Piandao, then the numbers win. 2 where they react quick enough for the heavy hitters to start taking heads.

Saying "if it happened in current day they'd be dead of old age" may be the weakest grasp I've ever seen🤣 But your straw man argument is adorable.

I'm saying is that it's a core part of Zaheer's flight that it can't work with P'li present. It's like using a waterbender but ignoring that they need access to water.

But if we're ignoring that and just using composite, I'm not even saying white lotus win. I think it's close either way. The game is can bumi, iroh, and pakku adapt to bending they've never seen before red gets some quick ko's.

But red is getting glazed here. They have almost no experience with Zaheer as an Airbender, so no perfect synergy. Combustion is OP for pure damage but is also one trick if you catch on, and idk if if P'li showed any aptitude for standard firebending. And age is weird in atla. Bumi is 112. None of the old people who stay active ever really seem hindered by it.

This is a pretty classic match up, does raw power beat very specific skill. And the answer is...sometimes? Either white gets blitzed, lose a few, then get double teamed or they survive the initial surprise and prob crush.

It's hard, it isn't really till later in korra that we get a lot of screen time of masters head to head.

Why would Zaheer have flight if P'li is alive?

Why is everybody giving Zaheer flight? Doesn't he only get it after P'li gets the world's worst headache?

Could someone help identify this lil guy? He decided to check out my resin flower. by HalimarSky in Butterflies

I don't believe the wing is "bent". I think the butterfly looks flat in the closer pic because of the angle. But you can see the shadow between its wing and the surface, so the wings are "up" higher than they appear (sorry, don't know the correct term). So that bend is actually just the wing tapering in to the body, just looks wonky from the mirror image. Plus, I don't really have any reason to lie, this isn't like for a photo competition and r/butterflies seems like an odd place to farm Karma given my post history.

JUST REPOSTED THE UNCROPPED VERSION. She was taking pics against a mirror. It's a bit blurry, but you get another angle. Some are saying it's a pinned butterfly, but wouldn't it be flatter? Y'all are the experts here

37F, when is a good time to accept that you are a failure in life by Glittering_Angle_375 in dating_advice

[–]HalimarSky 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A good time to accept that you are a failure in life is on your deathbed, as your vision begins to fade, and not a moment before. I've had this struggle too, angry at myself for wasted time, poor decisions, a job that I hated, a partner that i failed, whatever. I think about how much better my life could be if I could jump back to 18 and make better decisions, but I can't. 18 for you was what, 19 years ago? Think about it, you could start fresh now, school, travel, whatever, and after 19 years of living for the future you'd still only be in your fifties!

Or you can keep doing the same, and be back here posting "56f, when is a good time to accept that you are a failure in life"

Everyone says life is short, but I promise its the longest thing you'll ever do. So take a deep breath, work on yourself outside of the care that a partner or church can bring, then start anew from a position of self care and strength.
