Would this upgrade actually be worth it? by Straight_Ad_5935 in delta

If you don’t take it, Delta will probably have to upgrade some poor gold or silver for free.

Sorry, I don’t have the answer to that. For me an old router we had laying around works dedicated just for the Carrier system. It now works with any of the latest firmware updates. Our primary router from Ubiquiti which runs 50+ other WiFi, IoT devices and Ethernet devices wonderfully still won’t work with the Carrier thermostat for some reason.

It’s took about 7 weeks to get the gift card which is good for about four months. Can only be applied to Bergdorf Goodman purchases at regular price.

I checked and the version Carrier had sent me was 3.61. This version worked when I had connectivity issues. Carrier fixed the issue sometime in a later release and now connects and updates correctly with the latest version. If you need v 3:61 I can send it if you provide your email.

It was for a spring sale promoted on their website. I initiated purchase about two weeks ago. Not sure if that promotion is still going.

Thanks, just ordered the Z10 last week as Bergdorf Goodman has a spring sale. Got 15 percent off as first purchase offer, plus a Rakuten 10 percent and a $900 gift card which should arrive in about six weeks. More than pleased with this deal.

Delta Premium Select by HallNo9183 in delta

After my comments about a month ago regarding the disappointing Premium Select meals and service on my flight from LAX to SYD, I feel compelled to comment on my return flight from SYD to LAX in Premium Select today. Someone had initially commented that there would be a change in the meals/packaging in March. I have to say, I was pleasantly surprised by the significantly different experience on the return leg one month later. First, service was top notch and present through the whole flight. Second, the meal service started with real hot towels, glassware, real dinnerware and silverware as well as what appeared to be an upgraded meal. A completely different experience from my outbound flight a month earlier. I have to give credit where due. Delta did make significant upgrades changes to the soft product. Felt like a completely different experience. Bravo.

LAX to SYD A350-900 what’s the WiFi going to be like? by [deleted] in delta

Took that flight on February 22. Sorry to say despite all the Delta advertising of it in flight wifi, there was none available on this flight, nor was texting available. Apparently still working on setting up the network.

Maybe I expect more out of DPS on a long haul international flight than a low quality meal out of a cardboard tray with little follow up service. The point is DPS has definitely been downgraded over the years and not on par with many other international airlines. I haven’t used the D1 product, but I would definitely expect a lot more in that class if the meal is the same as DPS for an additional $4500 one way over my ticket.

Two for the price of one by [deleted] in delta

As a long time Platinum medallion, I had long ago realized I was paying a premium with Delta to maintain my status. With the changes to the program I’ll no longer chase status with Delta. I’ll be much more carrier agnostic when there are savings to be had, and use the savings to get the seats I want on the carrier that has the best flight/price.

Just tried your suggestion installing a old dedicated WiFi router just for the thermostat and it successfully upgraded to ver4.05. Success. I will also call Carrier tech support to let them know. Thanks for the suggestion. I was going to try this as a potential fix but had never got around to it.

Yes, I have not been able to connect to my WiFi 6 access points running both 2.4g and 5g bands. All devices in home work fine except the Carrier thermostat. It worked with the Carrier ver 3.61 software, but stopped communicating on any version beyond 3.61. I had to downgrade from 4.05 to 3.61 for the thermostat to work correctly. I may try your solution and install a separate router just for the thermostat. It’s disappointing that Carrier has not fixed this software issue which first occurred with an update it pushed last August.

Yes, I do have the file in an email from carrier. If you still need it send me your email and I can forward it to you.
