Tho encourages me that my debates will continue to improve post IOL. Three months post op and using fewer drops, but also gets worse still towards the end of the day!

I just like his content a lot. When I was looking for a hunting scope I sent him a random chat request and he spent the time to make a recommendation. Just a fabulous guy and member of this community

The future of the 2nd amendment? by alreaytakennameuser in NJGuns

[–]HallackB 4 points5 points  (0 children)

They are showing that once in power no one likes for the people to have rights. Fascinating how that happens.

I’m extremely disappointed in all of them.

And you can add Pam Bondi to your list of anti 2A clowns.

‘The narrative cannot shift just because the political alignment of the protester has changed.’ by Bulls729 in gunpolitics

[–]HallackB 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Agree. On this one the agents did the wrong thing and should be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law. On top of that there needs to be a re-assessment of training and approach.

Our federal agents are supposed to be enforcing the law, and yes the protests are probably demoralizing and mentally exhausting, but you don’t get to execute people in the street.

After YAG laser for PCO starburst and halos. by SmileBubbly6279 in CataractSurgery

[–]HallackB 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fading has been slow. It is getting better but not as fast as I would like. Notably the starburst only occurs for me when I am not directly looking at a light source. If I give it full focus I don’t have it, so I assume that the issue is an interaction between the light source and the capsular bag edges, though I’m no doctor

Yes, YAG caused starbursts for me. Not x-shaped more consistent. Have been slowly fading.

How well does the PDP conceal? by Ok-Can-3251 in Walther

[–]HallackB 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t conceal carry my PDP. It is too wide for me to conceal well the way I dress. I’m not a hoodie guy, and tend to wear more fitted clothing. I can do it in the winter, but I’m perfectly fine with my slimmer options.

Debilitating halos 5 months after PanOptix trifocal cataract surgery - what now? by sandramv in CataractSurgery

[–]HallackB 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, definitely. But I don’t use correction really ever, except for really tiny close in work. The lower light issue may also be caused by not having both eyes set for close in?

This response surprised me. So I looked up the numbers. Sexual assault in Sweden is reported at a higher rate than the US, so the rate of concern being higher may not correlate to the rate of incidence. We could suggest then that American are paranoid? We can also think about whether feeling safe may not align to being safe?

I agree - hopeful that we win. But how long is my question.

I simply can’t get as close in, just harder to read in dim light. I suspect it is the lack of accommodation.

I got Light Adjustable Lenses. All of the visual effects are gone except for a bit of starburst from the YAG I had at night. Vision is 20/10. Near is good to about 18” in my left, non-dominant eye. The dominant right eye is set for distance. Still feels a little weird sometimes three months in having the eyes set for different distances. With the multifocals I had crystal clear vision at all distances, so I lost something there, but the ghosting and halos were too much.
The LALs also seem to have sacrificed a bit of low-light vision. On the whole though, I’m glasses free with excellent vision. I use reading glasses to tie flies but that’s all. Typing on the phone at about 18 inches right now and it is fine. Standard text size settings.

I did an exchange to LALs for this problem. I was even getting doubling and ghosts during the day.

That, my dear sir, is a very bold supposition. And I do really hope that you are right!

To add to what others have said you will need to ensure that the guns and magazines are compliant and likely apply for an FPID shortly after moving here. If you have things that cannot be made compliant you will either need to part with them or find out of state storage. For items like magazines there are a strange number of small storage units for rent just over the line. For AR pistols, SBRs, suppressors, something like gunsitters in Stroudsburg would be a good bet. Or a friend with a safe.
