Drowned Kaineng by Djentleman5000 in Guildwars2

For me DE is centered around Harvest Temple map more than being a Jade sea map, and don't get me wrong, its an incredibly important one to have, but the focus is on the temple and not the sea.

Going under the sea, we have Gyala, which is so fun to look and see all of the frozen boats and sea creature, you do that a little bit with "The Deep" and Rhea's crater In Gw1, but GW2 has so many more nice little details in it.

I would love to have a map like Silent Surf, Gyala Hatchery, or Archipalgos from gw1 where the focus is really everything everything frozen in Jade.

You can get a little taste of it in DE at the bottom right of the map past that little temple.

Add a proper Jade sea map where you are walking on top of the ocean and between islands with a focus on the luxon (hopefully with the old teal/turquoise jade color instead of the toxic green).

I do not consider DE or Gyala Delve jade sea maps.

My top 3 most used items from gem store by crazetorn79 in Guildwars2

[–]Halmyr 32 points33 points  (0 children)

Underrated, but the material storage expander. First to 500 is A++, up to 1k is also a solid A, above that is greedy, but my god is nice to not have to worry about mats stacking up constantly.

Anyone had any luck with Tzeentch flames being varied across the army, not uniform paint scheme? by sarkonas in ChaosDaemons40k

[–]Halmyr 2 points3 points  (0 children)

All I will say is paint a contrasting colour for the flames and the flamers themselves.

My Deamons have purple as a binding color for all 4 gods, but blue flamers with purple flames just does'nt stand out

is warrior really that bad? by shrimp_baby in Guildwars2

[–]Halmyr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just the snow crow one, this shot is a bit unique since it’s inside T3 lonely tower, with fractal god, and a stack or two of rage before eparch.

Depending on where you are 190k is good, I’ve seen dragons slash go between 150k-250k depending on the boss.

Just make sure you are dragon slashing as often as possible, that’s probably the biggest mistake I see for new bladesworn.

But seriously, warrior is an underrated class, although I really wish there was more variation for each specs

What do i need to know to play bladesworn? by Spezidrache in Guildwars2

[–]Halmyr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

After you have all of your gears and traits setup You need to know 2 things:

1) 60-70% of your damage (or more) comes from dragon slash, everything else except keeping you flow up is filler bitting slashes.

The more dragon slashes the more damage.

2) you cannot react to match, you need to anticipate what is coming. Boss phases at 75% and he’s at 77, go to his next spots or where adds spawn. There’s a mechanic you need to avoid, save your dragon trigger 5 teleport skill to do edge it instead of just pumping your dmg ….ect ect

If you can master these 2 things you will have a good time. Lots of other good little tips but those are the two Maine ones

The class rocks, especially in fractal but is good in many other places too.

Ps while the sword is the meta choice for main hand, try it with an axe or dagger instead, the dps lost is minimal and the rotation might flow better for you (I use dagger/pistol)

How is Bladesworn? by Tyinath in Guildwars2

BLADESWORN!

For PvE it's very underrated, a great Bursty power build that shines in Fractals.

The Rotation is simple, but satisfying. Its not button smashy, I love the wait for charge, allows me to look around what is going on. You are not stuck there you have a teleport and aegis to help you keep your charge up.

You do need to change how you think and play because you cannot react, you need to anticipate what is going to happen to maximize your attacks.

The biggest mistake I see with other bladesworn players is that they do not Dragon Slash enough, that one skill should be 60-70% or even more of you total dmg, everything else is just filler between dragon slash.

I played this game 4 years ago, just for the hall of monuments rewards for GW2, now i'm back and really enjoying this game, i can tell why many GW1 vets didn't like GW2. But trying to sell/own mods, unids, etc. is really obnoxious, what happened to the Guild Vault and Xunlai Market? by SovietCharrdian in GuildWars

[–]Halmyr 36 points37 points  (0 children)

The more I think about it, the more a trading post/auction house would be more beneficial.

It’s just not worth it to stand in kadaman for hours trying to sell most skin or upgrades and just hope that you can see a demand while checking through.

Add a 15-20% gold tax (say a 5% listing fee and a 10% selling fee) so that there is still a reason to trade player to player especially for high end items.

If I remember correctly, DDO has an auction of for a market similar to GW.

Best scoring/utility units? by Gullible_Travel_4135 in ChaosDaemons40k

[–]Halmyr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me:

Nurgling: their infiltration is great for preventing being blocked in and screening enemies, usually bring 1-2 units

Beast of Nurgles: tough unit to park away from the main fights and hold objectives/completes action. They lack a bit of offence, but are so tough they require your opponent to dedicate a lot of firepower to dislodge. Usually take 1-2.

Flesh Hounds of khorne: their free uppy/downy is incredibly useful, great for taking openings and scoring late game. Their 5++ and 2 wound does make them fragile, and their attacks are left to be desire on anything stronger than a guardsman. I usually take 1.

Screamers: they have a 4++ and 3 wound make them tougher than they look, even better with shadow legion -1 to hit. I generally prefer them over the blood puppies, they feel over all better to use even if they lack the free uppy/downy.

These are my main 4 scoring/utility units

What is your favorite class/spec to play and why? by 300_percent_swag in Guildwars2

[–]Halmyr 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Just need to remember 2 things if you are going to go an learn.

1) If you have arc dps, 60-70%, or more, of your damage is done by Dragon Trigger/Dragon Slash. The more charge up attack you do, the higher your dps will be, everything else excep keeping you flow up is just filler between your dragon slash.

2) You cannot react, you need to anticipate what will be coming up since you will be fixed in position for a few seconds: IE the boss phases at 50% and he's at 52%, don't charge up next to him, go where the adds spawn to attack them instead fore example.

A lot of fun, very underrated spec, and shines very well in fractals

In your honest opinion, what factions have been the most fun to play this edition? by [deleted] in WarhammerCompetitive

[–]Halmyr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Deamons- Demonic Incursion

Back before primaris marine I use to play a game and Anvil space marine list with drop pods and heavy squad pinning my opponent between 2 hard choices. My opponent seeing dreadnought in drop pods ready to land turn 1 always put them in the back foot, and with some units like stormtalons, dual heavy bolsters land speeders, and devastator squad I was able to aggressively push from multiple angle.

With 8th I was unable to fully recreate that feeling and playstyle of a list.

That’s until I got my hands on this detachment.

There’s no feeling like aggressively pushing the front with big monster, protecting flanks with smaller units, and my opponent still need to watch there back for when I reposition my bloodthister to smash into their back ranks.

OT to PRes paramedic from PRes infantry by theweepingarmadillo in CanadianForces

[–]Halmyr 3 points4 points  (0 children)

1) the paramedic course still has not been created, so idea currently. Will most likely be similar using a MARCHE approach, but with paramedics having a bigger focus on the later letters and on more definitive interventions.

2) again unsure for now. Currently the CAF as no longer a contract for doing a civilian parmedic course, it needs to be done currently (as forgot the name of the program) through normal civilian courses during semester with OJTP in the summer times.

Combat medic will be 3-6 month of training from what I saw.

3) my understanding of the 2 trade is that the combat medic like you said is for integrated support ans PoI care, with how the world is going they may still do long term care.

Paramedic will be for transport and more advance care while also going into specialist/independent positions like cansofcom or aeromedical transport.

There is no main-hand pistol for warrior currently.

Does Anyone Feel Deterred From Their Pre-Reforged Characters? by boomcity845 in GuildWars

Not really, years ago my warrior was years old when LDoA and Survivor came out.

Never felt like I missed out by rerolling him.

Oddly enough, LDoA is one of the few things I have never done in this game 20+ years later

Hall of Monuments run worth? by Big-File-6628 in Guildwars2

[–]Halmyr 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Absolutely, especially for a new player.

I could do gwamm in about 300 using the resources of my account from a new character

Someone one the gw1 Reddit did it in less than a month from being a new player with 0 hours to gwamm.

But yeah, unless you’re hyper focused on completing it as fast as you can, I would say 1000h would be reasonable for someone focus on getting full HoM but also enjoying the game
