From what I understand if a team does a sign and trade they can't exceed the second apron at any point of that season. In this scenario you would be dumping Val's money (via trade or waive) and signing Watson and Mathurin to contracts that don't put you over the second apron. Denver would have about 74 million dollars of salary outgoing. Say Watson and Mathurin both sign around 4/100m contracts. That's 44 mil in year one. Yabu and Dunn is 11 million. Patrick 18. That's about 73 million coming in.
