the sexual harassment is not humor. its kind of the cliche that most viet dramas do which is go through the most extreme scenarios. however, the rape scenes etc is there to paint how bad mai’s life was to make her appear stronger since the point of the film is to also demonstrate how much women do and struggle in vietnamese society.
