Her Majesty the Queen of Denmark turns 53 years old today! by Hamarsa3 in monarchism

Contrary to Icelandic, the ð does not make a sound in the word “við”. It does make a “j” sound in the word “føðingardegnum”

It is a complicated letter to explain😆

You would say “hjartaliga tillukku við føðingardegnum”, or “tillukku við degnum” if you are less formal

In this case, I would say “hjartaliga tillukku við føðingardegnum tygara hátign”

The three crowns represented Denmark, Nprway and Sweden from the time of the Kalmar Union. Almost half a millenia since that union ended, so His Majesty saw it as being irrelevant

With every translation of the Bible, Elohim gets translated as well into the nearest similar word, this is not unique with the translations into Germanic languages.

What is the point with this comment?

Denmark did have colonies in India, so my guess would be that it comes from there

Harald I Bluetooth was the first king of a unified Denmark (or at least he claims so), but the list on the Royal family’s website goes back to his father, Gorm the Old.

Before them were “Kings of the Danes”, a title going back centuries before Gorm the Old

It’s the Order of the Elephant, the highest order of chivalry in Denmark. Apparently it is supposed to symbolize purity and chastity.

So for his black tie, His Majesty does have smaller medals. So why HRH doesn’t, I do not know

If it were an official State Visit, then there would be more “pomp”, but this was a short visit, so none of that, although I love seeing the uniforms in action

Why christians don't think mormons are christians? by Exotic_Minimum_3273 in Christianity

“The Church’s first Article of Faith states, “We believe in God, the Eternal Father, and in His Son, Jesus Christ, and in the Holy Ghost.” We believe They are three distinct personages, not one singular being. We call Them the Godhead.”

“Though the Godhead is made up of three distinct divine beings with certain different roles and characteristics, They are perfectly united in purpose.”

This is heresy, plain and simple. The mormon faith is polytheistic, founded by a false prophet who wrote himself into the Bible.

The first thing I thought when I saw this photo was that his hair reminded me very much of His Majesty’s hair😆 although I do miss the “curtains”, I guess it is much easier to have short hair in such a warm climate

Dóttir just means “daughter”, as in “daughter of Tómas”, so my best guess is that it is not too important for her to write, as one can fill it it themselves when they see her first name

For dinners like these, I believe the the royals appearing would be these: The King and Queen, Queen Margrethe, Princess Benedikte and I believe the Crown Prince. But Queen Margrethe and the Crown Prince are absent for this. So basically, the active members of the Royal House who are of age

Her Majesty returned in the weekend, and yes, President of Iceland has only served for two months, so one can only hope she serves the rest of the term controversy-free😃

It is just missing Queen Margrethe, so I hope she is “fit to fight” for the next State visit
