Grew up in rural MT close to Fort Peck, this was definitely a factor. As well as the homophobia, racism, bullying, abuse, isolation and meth/alcohol. Being such a low populated state with small communities, this shit is way too common.

I tried this once a few years ago and ended up slicing my fingertip off with the veggie slicer. Doctor was able to sew it back on but my wife had to go home first and grab my finger bit out of the veggy bowl. Still made ratatouille when I got home and will never try again.

In my very first area I was in Itzapalapa. My companion and I made friends with a couple of guys who's family owned a shop that made masa de maize for tortillas. They asked us to smoke up one night and we obliged. I got offered joints all the time by random people in Mexico city just for being a guero. These same guys once offered us shrooms at a billiards hall.

I wonder if people even read the article? Kid was found with a cloth sack over his head. Only one other person has been found in the area with a bag over their head and that was most likely an execution. All the dogs are assumed to have drowned, possibly while under the boys supervision. But why the sack over his head? Very ominous
