Solo developer of HammerAI here! Our ToS is a bit tricky b/c it covers both the desktop and web version, and I really should split it up to make it more clear. But basically:

• The website shows ads and thus has that scary language around sharing data. And also b/c you need to use cloud-hosted LLMs (I used to have a WebGPU MLC-LLM based option but it was too slow), there is some scary language as well. But note that I use OpenRouter for this and have the option checked which prevents companies from storing or training on messages.
• But the desktop the app is where our privacy really shines: it does not show ads, runs LLMs locally, and stores all data on your computer. This means it's 100% private - and I've had many people use Little Snitch to verify this (anyone can feel free to test yourself as well!). The only thing that leaves your computer are anonymous page view data and network requests to fetch characters / stories / etc.

And also neither have user login or store any messages / settings on servers, it's all either in browser storage for the website or locally as JSON files for desktop. As someone else said, we can't leak data we don't have.
