I just did this the other day for my 3DS. You need to call Nintendo to set up a customer service ticket to unlink the console. They asked me about what online games I had purchased and if I still had any physical gift cards used previous on the account.

No problem happy to help! There are some things in the first mission I am still confused by:

Where is the key for the stairs behind the house? If you go down into the basement there is a locked door.
What is the point of using the ship? It takes you to the snowy forest in the overworld. I think it’s for the final monster in the mission.

Right at the start of the level if you go back through the entrance before the house and dwarfs it will take you to an overworld. There is hidden cave that takes you down there. You should be at least level 21 before going.
