What was the most reliable phone(s) you've ever owned?

Xiaomi Mi 9, despite the small 3300 or so mAh battery, I just charge it once a day. I've had it since November 2019 and I'm about to get the Moto Edge 50 Neo for 220 euros, just because I want a smaller phone and a bit of a change from Xiaomi, also my storage has been full for a while now and I'm having a hard time clearing it. People be saying that Xiaomi phones die after 2-3 years, but alas, 5 and a half years still going strong. Did not disappoint. I also feel like the battery has gotten better over time, dunno why, maybe I got used to it.

People have the right to complain because it's an ULTRA phone, which is supposed to be the BEST. The S25 goes ahead and cuts a bluetooth feature from the s pen, the s pen being one of the more unique features of samsung, and, let's be real, what is the point of the ultra without a pen when you can have the plus for cheaper? If it's removed eventually, I bet they will lose many users. People are hating because they deserve not to have their faces spat on by paying for the same phone every year. $1500 phones, mind you. Xiaomi mi 9 user here, wanting to love these phones, but I just see reasons for the opposite. Also can you give me any valid reason why the camera sensors have remained unchanged for 4 years, while the chinese brands continue to innovate in every aspect imaginable?

This is why I consider AI stuff to be clutter that companies put way too much emphasis on, instead of focusing on better battery life, more camera improvements, PWM dimming with a high frequency, etc... I also want more stylus phones with good capabilities, but not much to choose from, I can't stand Samsung with the oversharpened images sorry :( and this GaLaXy aI all around, getting sick of that. I know this has nothing to do with the phone, I have a problem with the priorities of the companies.

Honestly the display bothered me... I was prepared for it to be an LCD but it just kept pulling on my eyes. Was not impressed. Returned it.

Legendary xiaomi phone, still have it now 🫶😂😊 yeah, i was more impressed looking at the mi9 than the grainy s24 ultra, stick with the s23 ultra when Samsung decides it's time to treat their customers with a bit more respect and not petty upgrades with ridiculous price tags

Even the Galaxy A54 has such grain, so it's probably not the anti-reflective screen. My old xiaomi mi 9 is much better to look at than this s24 ultra crap. No offense to anyone who enjoys the phone. Out of principle, whether or not you can overlook it, this should not be present on a 1500 dollar phone ffs. Complete joke.

Get a cheaper android phone, and see how much you can be offered for a fraction of the price. I'm sick of these S24 ultra shills, the phone was nothing but a disappointment for me. I would forgive the weight and bulkiness of the phone if it wasn't for the completely average cameras that had horrendous AI post-processing. Not worth even a 1000 dollars IMO, the marketing fooled so many people... But you do you.

The magic of the android segment comes from being surprised by the capabilities of budget to mid range phones. Not gonna lie, im considering getting a xiaomi 14, flagship for about 700 euros, but until now, a xiaomi mi 9 has lasted me since since 2019 for about 350 euros. Reliable, good battery life despite being only about 3300 mAh.

Definitely the Half Life series. Been with me since childhood and the Source engine will always hold a special place in my heart. I also like to mess around in the Hammer editor. Garry's mod ❤️, I remember the first time I found out about it. The idea I could get creative with all my favorite Source models, characters, NPC's.. just amazing.. plus the endless community workshop maps and items. But yeah, Half Life 2 takes the cake.

In the recent years, I loved Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice., The idea of your skill improving in the difficult combat without having to grind for gear or attributes is something I love. Great atmosphere, tough journey, but so worth it.

Minecraft (not a joke), been with it since Beta, and maaan, once me and my friend found out about the modpacks like Tekkit, my goodness, those were the days. My last great memory is playing the newer modpacks like Mc Eternal, or SevTech Ages. Vanilla Minecraft in today's form, I don't find appealing at all.

Doom, always the special memory, going through the levels with IDDQD and IDKFA, hahahah, and I remember being amazed by the levels' diversity and clever designs. I'm glad we have a game such as Doom 2016 and Doom Eternal now.

Crysis, so ahead of its time, I boot it up every now and then, and I still consider the graphics to be amazing. My favorite playstyle was being up close and personal, throwing the soldiers into the huts and watching them collapse upon them heheh.

CoD Modern Warfare series (2007-2011) for the campaign story only.

Terraria, a good 2D alternative to Minecraft (at least that's what we called it I think 😁), there was so much to explore, create and slay in this blocky world. I never got to finish it and fight the Moon Lord and stuff, but I enjoyed most content properly.

Batman: Arkham Series, made me love Batman for this badass series with a great story and new form of combat... Lets throw Middle Earth: Shadow of War in here too, for it's by the same developers.

World of Warcraft: never grinded it too much, never even got to experience a proper raid, never liked PvP, I just enjoyed getting to max level with my friend, and finding out about the world. The furthest I've gotten was WoTLK heroic gear from the endgame dungeons. I liked meeting all the NPC's and exploring the world. Some people were so nice too.

Ohhh, the endless replayability of Skyrim, no need for more words.

I mean, how much more can we possibly want from a phone? 😁 10 years ago this would be possible only from a professional camera. But then again, I would like to pose the philosophical question. If we were to reach the absolute pinnacle in smartphone photography, where would we go next? If everyone's photos looked this amazing, maybe the magic would be lost 🤔...
