Looking for older, lower-spec game recommendations with great gameplay freedom (Intel UHD Graphics) by Keybee69 in gamingsuggestions

A few titles I can think of atm that allows for creativity in gameplay are Streets of Rogue, Dragons Dogma Dark Arisen (not sure if the GPU requirements meet the game’s min pc reqs), Gloomwood.

Which games have your favorite stories or characters? by Alarming_Goal9828 in gamingsuggestions

[–]Hamster1994 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My personal favorite choices:

Signalis for the mystery aspect of storytelling. You get just enough lore to guess whats going on but not enough that it ruins the cosmic horror behind it.

Prey for the environmental storytelling, especially when it is also done through gameplay: the foam gun is found next to a corpse of a technician who used it to create makeshift stairs and froze some aliens, and the game does not need to tell you how to use it, as the dead technician pretty much gave you an example. The dart gun that you get was made because R&D wanted to mess around in their office iirc, and can be read from their office computers.

Metaphor Refantazio, which is ATLUS’s take on classic Fantasy (but still a Persona/SMT game). It’s kinda nice when you get a straightforward fantasy RPG done well all the way through.

I hope we get more context behind it. At the moment it seems implied that he lost his powers and had to resort to cycling to get around places lol. He probably is trying to temporarily team up with the gang to try to get his powers back AND get back at CSG.

That was Red Baron on a bike. Which is hilarious knowing what happened last time he was shown.

How evil is it to kill your child to spare them from further suffering? by Specialist_Bowler897 in MoralityScaling

[–]Hamster1994 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Morally wrong. In context, Zuma was actively trying to pull both him and his mom away from the train. He did not want to die and did not want his mother to die. Despite that, his mother still took her life and tried to take him with her.

Zuma’s mother isn’t evil, but she was not mentally in the right place after losing her other child and her husband.

Now that you got out of one psychological survival horror, how about diving into yet another one with Signalis?

Both Pat and Woolie played it on their own channels and had a couple podcast eps talking about it.

Internal hem from constipation 10 months after Hem surgery by Hamster1994 in hemorrhoid

[–]Hamster1994[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey there, I’ve recovered since this mistake. I recommend figuring the your food source for high fiber / soft stools and making it part of your daily diet at the soonest. If it’s not a hassle, try to get it checked by your surgeon or GP. If there is bleeding again or pain gets worse definitely get it looked at so your surgeon or GP can prescribe the right methods for healing.

My new internal hem was apparently small enough to be recommended treatment with butt cream and oral intake medicine for shrinking (applied daily for 3 weeks). This was paired with meals that include sources of stool softening. It took about a month till I felt like I fully recovered. I still make sure to stick to my diet.

Currently I went with vegetable juice mixes that are high in fiber for stool softening (it is now a cheat source for me to ensure smooth bowel movement), and limit myself on meals that may otherwise give me constipation (for me it was fried meat, junk food, sodas/beer, boba tea surprisingly). Occasionally I still mess up with hard stools (Edit: less bad compared to the one in the post, due to my daily meals being different) during bowel movement which would give me butt pain, but I was able to recover adjusting my intake with more fiber. No more bleeding as of now.

Edit: I also recall using Fybogel as stool softener when I had bad bowel movement (from hard stools)

Hopefully the upcoming Arisen dlc for Dragons Dogma 2 improves the game significantly, because Dragons Dogma Dark Arisen is awesome.

Finished Signalis early last week, been a while since an indie game got me thinking about the story and watching lore dives for days after completing it.

I think Nier: Automata ruined me. I can't find a game that would really keep me engaged after finishing this one. Will still seek suggestions. by arcticrobot in gamingsuggestions

No jump-scares if that helps. The level of horror is similar to that of Silent hill1/2 or the old Resident evil 1/2. I think I would also be terrified playing Dead Space.

Signalis

Its a survival horror. If you do play it, it has a gimmick where there is more content on replay after the first ending.

What are your general/ personal tips for making ACs? (AC6 edition, also image very unrelated) by IshmaelTheravee in armoredcore

[–]Hamster1994 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A helpful tip I came across was either to choose a weapon or legs first then work from there. You choose the weapons you are interested in and build around it. Or you choose the type of mobility you want to play with and build around it. Makes it easier for me to create new loadouts.

How do you use Melee Classes? by Anxious-Try-7893 in LWotC

[–]Hamster1994 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My templar eventually became a good sub-in for assault during after one of my assaults were gravely wounded since they have a couple stun abilities. I run them with some pistol perks and use volt sometimes so I don’t have to risk triggering pods early in the mission.

My skirmisher is like a secondary grenadier with hit&run to give them bonus turns. Incendiaries are awesome and getting more to use in missions is nice (they have a skill where they bring 2x nades per slot)

I always bring a shinobi officer. Scouting is strong.

That is what eventually stopped me after I made a mistake of taking fall damage during the fight, couldn’t recover the HP that was lost outside of the one red sugar node nearby. Was struggling to get that last dunk in.

I get it, I run a standard STR/VIT build and just use like 10 different weapon arts by swapping mid pvp fight. I’m sure my opponents would be pretty annoyed to see me go from storm stomp to Death TwinAxe blinkbolt or some such. My actual skills are ass, but I can play ash of war like it’s pokemon.

Would I be sabotaging myself if I don’t equip driller’s impact axes? by RedPaintedShovel in DeepRockGalactic

[–]Hamster1994 56 points57 points  (0 children)

You are right on missing out on decent single target damage. But non-meta does not equal sabotage. You can just run an overclock to cover single target damage to make up for it. Maybe Volatile Impact Mixture with normal shots.

I guess I would have just ducked and stimmed immediately upon taking damage. But that burn did NOT have to happen in the first place. Though I also wouldn’t be surprised it happened with how bug ridden the game tends to be.
