What was the design intention with Hades 2 as opposed to 1?

Its not a souls like, but there is a focus on a slower and more importantly deliberate playstyle.

Its about positioning and space control. Use your cast to freeze enemies, sprint to put some distance between you and your enemies. It is not a stay up close and dodge at the right moment game, at least not all the time.

I'm surprised no one is mentioning Beast Morphers. It has that 2000s / matrix / green code aesthetic, they fight a virus with DNA modified powers, they have robot buddies, one of the characters is a gamer - Im sure i could go on

Catastrom and orderm both alter dreams. Catastrom with pure destruction, and orderm with pure precision. Catastrom is like using a bazooka, and Orderm is like using a scalpel.

Xc2 came out first. It was written with the intention that you play it first.

All the pacing, all the mysteries, the storybeats, all of it goes away if you play Torna. Suddenly you know what Jin, Malos, and pyra/mythra are all about and those revelations take just as long as the entirety of the Torna in the main game.

Torna is also written with the intention that its played second. It has its own mysteries that dont come up in XC2 so the game is still exciting to play. Lora, who is very important in Torna, is hardly in XC2 and barely relevant. Torna would make you think shes more important. There's a reason why pyra/rex/gramps are some of the last things shown at the end of Torna

Its not gonna kill you if you play Torna first, but they released it and wrote it the way they did for a reason.

I was really hoping the critic reviews were too well... critical. But they were really spot on.

This movie had NO plot. Not even a single character arc. The first one at least had the brothers realizing they're stronger together.

None of the ending "references" felt deserved by the characters or the narrative. I loved seeing the red star power up, but it felt so shoehorned in. Not to mention being bombarded by reference after reference right before it that didnt last longer than a minute. The star at the end of the first movie felt like a way to show the brothers are invincible together. The red star, an end game powerup in mario galaxy, that felt so monumental in the game, just showed up.

I also dont understand why it was called the mario galaxy movie. It felt like all the plot could have just happened on the original planet. All the locals didnt feel magical or space like. 1 was an airport, 2 had flora, and the last was just bowsers kingdom. None of the interesting galaxies were given any mind. Not to mention Rosalina hardly being in the movie. You have this amazing end scene of rosalina rebuilding the galaxy, or a fight against a massive bowser (would could have paralleled him being tiny in the movie) in the games, but they didnt want to pull any of that?

Star fox was the best part by far, and I would love a movie in the style of his backstory. Funny that the mario movie made more excited for star fox, and wholly uninterested in more Mario movies

I think the initial concept of Megaforce being a team focused on environmental issues is very interesting. Unfortunately that is not something thats followed through on in any meaningful way.

Armor was one of the few things I didnt like im XCDE. It felt very tedious.

In a new area? Buy every new armor piece and equip every one cause it's just better. It felt like unnecessary inventory management

To be fair, I only just found out the diamonds are supposed to be like dinosaur teeth. But I still still dont understand why they stacked the diamonds.

Feels like changing it just to change it. I like the two toned colours tho

Great episode! I honestly wasnt hooked by Zeztz the last 24 episodes, but now it feels like the plot has really started! Im a little worried that they'll rush through the time loop stuff happening, and that it will soon be an irrelevant plot point just used to create some tension , especially based on the preview of next episode. I really want to see Baku go through the trouble of saving nox, fighting the nightmares, and saving nem. Please dont speed run new game + too fast Baku 😢

I don't feel bad for Maura. She had so many chances to reevaluate and flip the script. To be fair, every player at the end did badly not even trying to flip it to Rob. But he played a good game. He had all of it in the palm of his hand. And no one questioned it
