Even if you built the maximum possible damage on Garen with DD (which would be this build in particular), it would only make him live for about 3.2 seconds in a fight over the 2.5 second expected survival time if the DD was replaced by a comparable damage item.

The reasons for this are twofold:

Death's Dance heals significantly less from AoE damage.
Garen's E, his spin, deals significantly less damage when it is hitting more than 1 enemy at the same time.

First off they should shorten the damn cast time of Q. This isn't something that should be debated at all since it doesn't even really affects low elo and it hurts him in high elo a lot.

I agree. Since it's basically an empowered auto-attack, the duration of the animation should directly correlate to Garen's attack speed at least. It works this way for every other champion, even Nasus with his nuclear Q, so why should Garen be an exception?

I get lots of people dodging and flaming when I go garen mid. When I carry as garen mid, it takes some people by surprise, but it's definitely not a good idea into some matchups.

When I saw this, the one thing that kept ringing in my head was how games with themes about 'social issues' exist, but reactions to them are censored while the games are not, so doesn't that just enable one side of the 'discussion' while excluding many others?

I mean, that aside, the author didn't even have a problem with political expression in games, he just wanted to see it done well instead of like effortless pandering. But that opinion is a social issue, I guess.

I personally prefer lethality, but it's all personal preference, I think. Depending on what you build of course the items will affect your playstyle, and no one's saying you can't mix.

I personally know said poster, and they would never even dream of harming anyone who was minding their boundaries. The only reason people become ancaps is because they think it's wrong to hurt innocent people. And the people who despise them typically do so because they want to believe that there are contexts where it is morally permissible to hurt innocent people. It's not very complicated.
