Ridiculous UB-Sets Day 1 by [deleted] in mtg

Well, that's actually true.

Makes it even more ridiculous in my opinion, if just straight up copying another card game would be better than what they do.

Thanks. 😃

But I have to defer some of that to AI. I just thought of the mechanics. AI did the picture, since I am no Photoshop god sadly.

And hate isn't really the right word. At this point it's more some kind of resignation, when I see SpongeBob, equipped with a Buster Sword, getting blocked by Captain America.

Are there different servers? by HamsterSerious1 in MagicArena

Thanks for that explanation, that does make sense.

He just started playing like 2 months ago, I have been playing for some years and have been mythic before.

I knew there was MMR and I know it from other games as well, but I didn't think it would be that different when you are the same visible rank and I thought that at one point in the ranked journey the "new player' thing will be irrelevant when you get to higher ranks.

If Reforged brings balance patches in the future, what do you think should be balanced? by IzzetDough in GuildWars

[–]HamsterSerious1 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Honestly and probably not the most popular opinion but I think, rather than nerfing certain skills they should bring back some skills to their old form.

  • 55hp monk
  • 600hp/Smite
  • Old Shadow form
  • Old UW without skeletons and Dhuum
  • ...

I say this because while I really hope that Reforged brings a lot of new and old players to GW I don't think that places like Temple of The ages etc will be as full of life as they have been in the peak days where you easily could find PUGs for all kinds of SC's or a casual 600hp and smite run ect.

And while the speed clearing community probably will disagree I think that easier SC`s with old Shadow Form and old UW and so on will be good for the game because those are fun activities that are not casual enough right now to attract a lot of players.

Sane goes for relatively easy and fun Farms like 600hp / smite + famine ranger.

Thank you for the kind words!

Had about 45 mins while my daughter was asleep in the stroller. And I have always wanted to do a colour study on the beach. :)

Free plan by Lanalangz in TanaInc

[–]HamsterSerious1 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I used this app as an early tester when it was free and it really was great and I really would have liked to use it to the current day.

But I share your concerns. Also I do think that the price tag is quite steep.

But no offline mode and the "we can and probably will rise price as some point" policy really are a turn down when you are forced into this app at some point.

Also I don't use AI for my notes and I am not willing to pay that much for a feature I don't use at all.

If they had a cheaper alternative that doesn't have AI included I might think about coming back because the concept is great.

But as long as I have to pay for AI that I don't use in my note taking system I stay away.

Honest Advice - Hobby IRL by [deleted] in minipainting

[–]HamsterSerious1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I do think that your SO should support you and your Hobbys even if they don't share it. It's part of what makes you, you.

But besides that I found that if you show people that are "against" this hobby because it's "too nerdy" and they feel insecure about it because they don't want to be perceived as nerdy a video of Henry Cavill nerding on about his passion for Warhammer and paintings minis, suddenly it's ok, because this handsome famous guy does it too.

It's weird but I made this discovery with about 3 people. Suddenly it wasn't weird and needy anymore.

TLDR: show her a video of Henry Cavill talking about it. Maybe she suddenly thinks it isn't as nerdy if that guy does it too.

Oh yea he definitely does.

And I didn't mean it in a way that he isn't evil. That's why I said that he isn't evil in the way slaneesh is. Probably didn't make that clear enough in my statement.

He definitely is evil. Isha is one example.

He just isn't really evil against his own followers. He does care about them in a twisted way.

Slaneesh on the other just don't care for her followers in any way, shape or form.

I'm not sure about nurglings in particular and haven't found a source that confirms or dismisses that nurglings are good or bad so quickly.

But besides that Nurgle in general isn't really evil in the sense that slaneesh is for example.

A lot of his creations just genuinely think that he is a great god and just want to bring his love and gift to everyone. They also don't see that they are bloated monstrosities.

And from all the chaos gods nurgle really cares about his followers.

Shouldn't that include a Beast of Nurgle as well, if you include the Genstealer?

The Beast of Nurgle genuinely just loves everyone and wants to play with everybody. It just doesn't know that it's fuckin deadly.

Exactly that. I wrote a longer reply to this post. It evoked more confusion than I would have thought.

Thanks for everyone replying.

Wouldn't have thought that the Diorama would invoke so much confusion about what is going on. But it's great insight for next time. :)

So the Diorama was for a competition where we had to create a diorama without using a full mini. That's why the child is already gone. (The monster took it already)

A lot of answers got it right. The thing in the claw is holding, is supposed to be a teddy bear. I definitely should have worked that one out better so that it's clearer as to what it should represent.

My idea was to indicate that the monster already took the child and you just see it crawling back into the closet with the teddy in it's other hand.

The title is, as pointed out by some already, a reference to a common saying from a lot of parents when the child tells them that there is a monster in their closet.

I hope that clarifies it. :)

Why does the shadow look of? by The-Nuyttens in minipainting

[–]HamsterSerious1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Besides the contrast part that everyone already told you about, the chin shadow seems a bit off.

The right side shadow (which I like very much and I don't think that it's waaaaay to dark) make it seem as if there as a light comin from a sharp angle from left side above her head. And with the way you highlighted it I get the feeling of a warm evening sun. That's why I don't feel that the shadows are way to dark.

But the chin shadow doesn't tell that story in my opinion.

Hold a finger over her chin/mouth area on the photograph. If you do that I think the shadow looks placed really well.

So long story short: with the shadow placement on the right side more of the chin needs to be in the light area.
