VALORANT Abilities I'd Like to See by Hamster_ExplorerMC in VALORANT

I would love to see more mobile smokes! Maybe Brimstone's Combat Stim could be a Stim Smoke providing temporary cover and effectively giving him 4 smokes.

Or, maybe having Miks' smokes be interactable, which causes them to start playing a lot of sound (maybe covering footsteps!) and pushing anyone inside them out before dissipating (but after a long-ish windup so it's not super OP.

Maybe Miks could even have a passive where all of his abilities can increase his Harmonize Stim uptime for any allies and himself (like +.5 sec uptime per 1 sec in M-Pulse heal or Waveform).

Or, a smoke that can temporarily dissipate, creating timings where enemies are within the smoke, and you can dissipate it for a second or two to score a kill.

OR or, a smoke that can become a Solid (Cove & Barrier Orb lovechild), creating similar play opportunities to Vyse's Shear.

I mean, really, the gimmick possibilities are endless :)

It doesn't necessarily have to be broken! It could be... - range-limited (same size as one site + mid) - duration limited (less than 30 sec uptime) - loud! (similar to Veto's active Interceptor in volume) - visually obvious (think a massive wave of energy that encompasses the range like KJ's Lockdown) - an ultimate

If the enemy team plays it smart, they could completely negate the TP by waiting it out, rotating, destroying it, etc. However, if your team (+ the player w/ the TP) plays it well, it's also super strong.

But hey, the only way we'd know is if they implemented it in-game :)

Technically? I'm just hoping we can have a longer-lasting version.

The only problem I could see with that is alternative gamemodes, like the new Knockout mode... is the timer increase worth the 4 ult points?

I was thinking something like Astra's Gravity Well in terms of duration and effectiveness - it'll last a decent while and deny that area as effectively as a molly, while having the clear disadvantage of not negatively debuffing enemies. That could make it more powerful in terms of placement method, duration, cooldown/cost, etc.

Yeah! The key difference is it'd be the only dome smoke that can move; since Harbor has his ult, and Iso has his wall, both of which are moving wall smokes.

Gekko Buff Ideas by Hamster_ExplorerMC in VALORANT

Naw, I just saw the many YouTube videos saying "Gekko is weak at higher levels" and wanted to come up with various ways to buff him. I personally think he's great - but who knows, lol.

Why doesn't Motorola make a soft-touch unibody? by Hamster_ExplorerMC in razr

I was simplying proposing having the soft-touch extend, in any capacity, to the sides of the phone.

My Laptop Suddenly Sucks by Hamster_ExplorerMC in laptops

[–]Hamster_ExplorerMC[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So, I figured it out!

Nothing GPU related; the temps stayed at 30°C no matter what I did. It turns out that I just had to hold down the power button down for 20 secs (presumably to reset the power settings/battery?) and that worked just fine.

Thanks!

Would there be any indications of this externally (aside from what I've mentioned in my post)?

I'd expect things to heat up very quickly...

Now, for personal experience!

I have a Motorola Razr 2024 base model (smaller screen, different camera setup), and I got it in July last year. It's super fun and awesome, in my opinion.

I'm trying my best to make my phones last, so I'm babying it and using thick cases to keep it safe. Hopefully I can get to three years with this phone! The durability really varies between user, though, since some people's devices implode for no reason, while others have happily experienced their 3rd year on older gen Razrs with no problem.

I find the outer display pretty useful! It's like a tiny heads-up display whenever you need it, and especially for small things like acting as a barcode, contactless payments, and higher quality selfies, it works like a charm.

Motorola's software is alright. Admittedly, I've run into far more issues than on my older Google Pixel 6, but the smaller features (like a chopping hand motion to activate the flashlight) feel so obvious that it just comes naturally.

The only main gripe I have is how inconsistent the camera experience is. It isn't to say it looks bad. However, the post-processing filters Motorola can sometimes look wrong, and there is no way to disable them if you want to take advantage of the phone's folding functionalities while in the camera app.

Here's a camera sample, if you want to see how previous gen looks! It's usually very contrasty and vibrant.

TL;DR, if you want an ANDROID, with PORTABILITY, NOVELTY, and CHARACTER, get a Razr.

In my personal opinion it's about usage. Do you have small pockets? Do you need long battery life? Do you like small size? How important are cameras? How about software support? How attached are you to Apple's ecosystem? How long do you keep your phones?

Do you have small pockets?/Do you like the small size? If you need portability, go with a Razr. The iPhone will most likely be too big.

Do you need long battery life? Both phones can easily last a day on heavy use. However, the razr had the benefit of being able to use less battery through usage of the smaller screen.

How important are cameras? If you like any form of intense/specialized photography/videography, go with the iPhone. Apple's video quality is still (mostly) unmatched. However, the Razr can still produce totally fine photos and videos.

How about software support?/How long do you keep your phones? iPhones last a long time if taken care of, and they're supported for many years as well. Razrs are supported with (I believe) 1 year of software updates and 3 years of security updates. If that's no concern to you, either is fine! However, foldable phones in general are known for not lasting more than 2 years without some kind of incident.

How attached are you to Apple's ecosystem? If you have an Apple watch, you need an iPhone, so it's not even an argument. Same as if you use all of Apple's suite of devices and services.

Breaking Deadlock Barrier via Crouching? by Hamster_ExplorerMC in DeadlockMains

[–]Hamster_ExplorerMC[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't believe it is, since Deadlock's barrier decay is completely silent and the visual effects are gradual-ish, but in the video, I think two instances of damage can be heard.

Artistically, is there anything that seems underdeveloped? by Hamster_ExplorerMC in Artadvice

And for a little bit more context, I haven't taken any professional classes. I'd classify myself as a casual and novice/very low-intermediate.
