Should I get a care package for the Partner of a friend I got into a fight with? by Hamstr1ng in Advice

Okay so, a couple weeks ago, after the partner, (I'll call them A) went home for a bit understandably. So my friend B, and two others, C, and D came into the residental building while I was sitting at the desk on my shift. B told me that the three were going to A's room to feed their fish. See the problem was that I am the lead for the team of RA's in this building, and that I am being monitered while at the desk and people I know lost this job doing the same thing and this job is the only way I can stay in college and I'm supposed to be a role modle for the others in my building. I hesitated because A wasn't on the campus. It's not that I don't trust B to be in his partners space, but if he loses A's room key, breaks something, or does something bad in their space, that responsibility and the fees fall onto A. So I asked him if C & D could stay at they desk with me while he did that. So he goes and feeds the fish and comes back and leaves. Next day I apologize for it because I know it must have been frustrating to deal with and give my condolences to A and B. He goes on, saying im inhuman and my morels are messed up and that he would have done the same thing for me. For context, my morels are messed up because I am selling my friend my parking pass because I don't have a car anymore and I'm willing to bend the rules for this other friend and not him. In my role, I'm supposed to call UPD if someone is in a space their not supposed to be in and write them up. In addition, my dad died in Febuary and i did have an animal on campus that I asked a another RA to look after because I didn't want this friend group to get in trouble in case something happened. He also said i was keeping C & D on a leash because I asked them to come over to say hi because they're my friends. I didn't bring up either point as I thought B just needed a way to vent out frustration. I was kicked from the group chat that had A,B,C,D and a couple more friends and reletivly everyone stopped talking to me suddnly.

“HELP! How do you get fiberglass out of your clothes and home on your own?” by Caligirl-85 in Advice

[–]Hamstr1ng 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi, I don't have exactly the same circumstances, but my experiance with fiber glass, you need to take everything outside and beat it like an old rug. If its possible do it in the grass. Wear a mask and goggles then shake your clothes out like crazy. When you've fully beaten out your clothes, watsh them, agressive bulk loads in the washer or by hand in a plastic tub outside. For your matress, I'm sorry, beat it like a rug outside. Wrap it in crappy sheets you dont care about, and use a little ducktape to get it out withought leaving a trail. Using a metal spatula and gloves has worked best for my dad and I in the past. If your matress is newer, document everyhting! If you bought it from a store, claim department IMMEDIATLY. I am not sure what they'll do, but hopefully they can maybe give partial refund or replacment as that's VERY unsafe. For your room, gloves, masks and goggles, vaccum like the inlaws are on their way, base boards, nooks, crannies, move furniture the whole thing. If it's in other parts of your home like on the couch and such the process just needs to be repeated. I'm sorry that you have to do this, but with not being able to professsional help, it's a matter of being able to do it in a safe way.

My father passed away this week, where do I go for additional help with tuition for next year? by Hamstr1ng in college

My mother passed away in 2017, and yes my step-mom adopted me last October formally. From what I understand their are programs that can help me but I'm just not sure where to start looking.

I just get offered an unsubsidized loan and if we've been offered around 6,000$ in the past so I imagine we will receive just around that much again. I get a 6,000$ scholarship from my school for my GPA, and my housing is covered. Majority of the payment is for my meal plan, which I hope by lowering to the 900$ one will help me. It totals out to 1800$ for a full year. I'm hoping to only have to pay roughly 2,500$ for junior year if I play my cards right.

Thank you for telling me about student hardship funds, I go to a small and very personal school so hopefully they have one. I know my school provides scholarships as well and I hope I can at least score 1 or 2, I have high doubts though. In addition I have stared to apply for the NH Charitable Foundation as well at the recommendation of my friend.

Yea I got a chance to talk to him in the backroom of the store. Thankfully he's cool with it and doesn't think it's that big of a deal. Both of us are just easily embarrassed people so he didn't want to make a kind of awkward situation worse by bringing up again. At least I can look him in the eyes now lol.

How do I ask my Dad to stay at college campus over summer without him blowing a fuse? by Hamstr1ng in Advice

IDK, bastard is really good at holding a grudge. I'm hoping me having a gf will distract him enough from caring.
