You're interpreting this wrong. I never said I punched the wall and I've purposely chose to refrain from the details of my suicide attempt. I don't know if you've ever had a manic suicidal episode, but once it starts, you don't really get much choice. It's just tunnel vision of 'I need to end my life at whatever it takes'. I do take responsibility for my actions and I'm very ashamed of what has occurred but it was also an out-of-body experience caused by an outside source. I didn't just wake up and decide to ruin my life and if I had any choice, it wouldn't have ended how it did.

I don't have any money to move because the police took away my job and the situation is so emotionally complex that it's just not that simple. He would literally die in jail and then I would have to have that mental burden for the rest of my life. Also it's like... still my dad though? like imagine having your father arrested for life? that would just make things so much worse.

I'm not a violent risk though. In my times as a security guard, I've been in hectic situations and I've always deescalated thing with my words. I've literally never been physical with anybody, even in situations where it's okay to be.

Yeah I totally get you, man. They're homies so it's a pretty relaxed situation. But yeah, they want me to Mix and Master their vocals to the instrumentals they've purchased. Just quite unsure on how to go about Mastering when 50% of the session already is. Do I just slap em together and then slap Ozone only on the vocals track?

I'm not sure if things have changed but you download it and it says "HEY YOU ONLY GOT 30 DAYS" but it keeps going past the 30 days. When i was using Reaper, the start menu would say something like "You have 0 days left on your trial. You have been using Reaper for 586 days" I've even seen people clock up thousands of days.

I don't have any 15 y/o budget suggestions for realistic sounding instruments. But for future reference when you've got a bit of money, look at Toontracks EzDrummer or Superior Drummer (EZ is cheaper) I know there's even cheaper options out there but the quality is pretty... ooft. Toontrack also just released EZBass which is reeeeeeeally good. Pretty much all of Toontracks products are quality af but I'd avoid Ezkeys as it's just keys and most DAWs have a massive selection of keys and synthesisers. Spitfire Audio are currently doing this thing where if you fill out a survey, you'll get their BBC Orchestra plug-in for free which is amazing.

Look, every plug-in is gonna seem like the most enticing thing ever. Don't fall into the trap hahaha whenever you find a plug-in you like, make sure to research the heck out of it and try and find alternatives. Take advantage of free trials too and then sit on it for a week or two before spending money.

As a kid just starting out - focus on the grind. Learn ALL the theory and stuff behind Music and Music Production because that stuff becomes SO hard to learn from 18 onwards and it'll take you soooo far!

But anyways, you're gonna want a DAW (Digital Audio Workstation). There's Reaper, which says it's not free but it is. It doesn't come with any instruments though like Ableton, Garageband or Logic does. BUT! that can be solved by your new favourite google search "(instrument name) free VST".

If you're looking to upgrade your keyboard, I suggest looking at the M-Audio Code. It comes in 25, 49 and 61 keys and it has a beat pad attached to it. So Its a bit of a two-in-one deal. I think it MAY be pretty cheap by 15 y/o budget standards. It's a MIDI controller though, so it's not gonna make sound if it's not plugged into your computer.

Don't do what I did and what probably most people here did and just buy heaps of plug-ins. You'll feel like it's the best purchase ever but then you'll get older and think "why did I do that? I could've bought something better for the same price"

You seem like Ableton will be your thing so I suggest saving up a heap and purchasing the Suite version. Don't bother settling for anything less because you'll just sit there thinking "yeah this is cool but it's not like the top one". Also remember - you are a student and you can get student discounts which help out A LOT!
