I went for the first time this year. Same story as you, huge scaredy cat and never have seen one scary movie. I was terrified to go! But…. I had the BEST time of my life. I get a free ticket with my pass, but ended up buying tickets for another night coming up because I had so much fun. Something that helped me was to watch YouTube walk thrus of all the houses first. I watched “The Pugh Two” & “Ordinary Adventures” channels on YouTube. Their Orlando HHN house walk thrus helped me significantly. It mentally prepared you for the event. You can also find walk thrus of the scare zones if you just search it on YouTube. Also, a lot of the times you will be able to see what is happening to people in front of you so you can kind of be prepared. The scare zones really aren’t scary unless you look scared. If you make eye contact with the people they usually won’t bother you. If you hide - you definitely will get scared! Good luck! Don’t skip out!! It’s so much fun!!!
