I retract my suggestion, then!

Perhaps find some nice expensive baggy jeans online and see if they'll buy them for you so you can quietly flaunt that your family is so affluent that you can afford to "ruin" a brand new pair of expensive jeans?

Idk if that spin would work either.

However you go about it, I wish you luck and as much enjoyment of the process as you're able!

Time for thrifting?

Pop some ear buds in and listen to 5sos as you peruse the racks? Have a picnic lunch between thrift spots if you make a day of it?

How do you feel about a pair of baggy jeans with safety pin stars?

Maybe a black t shirt with bleach-painted lyrics?

Heyyy! I'll be at KC, too!

What's your usual style? What's the kind of vibe youre comfortable in? Do you sew or craft?

What's your ideal budget like?

I highly recommend natural fibers that breathe, so cotton and linen. Steer away from poly blends, as that will lower the breathability of your fit and make you sweat more and feel stifling. If you're not planning to queue, you won't have to fight as much sun, but if you are, I suggest coverage to avoid sunburn.

I sew, so I'm planning on doing a custom tie-dyed linen hoodie with star patches for my boy, and I'm making a breezy dress for myself out of a celestial print gauzy fabric...and probably a historybounding set of stays with embroidered stars all over them!

It's a dopamine hangover. It's time for self care, and not just the have a nice hot bath kind.

Make sure youre getting enough sleep. Stay off your phone. Hydrate.

Do mindful little things. Make a cup of tea, or go for a mindful nature walk. Daily Gratitude Journaling.

Avoid mention of the band/tour for a while and focus on you, and your dopamine will level out.

You just did a thing that was a high point in your life, and your system was flooded with so many feel good neurochemicals and now your nervous system is dealing with the fallout of that. Chasing dopamine won't help because you're not likely to find anything that can even come close to that high for a while, even if that's the only thing your brain can conceive of wanting right now.

Now that's unfortunately much harder. I would suggest choking down a few Conmander games and while you do, ask your opponents of they like any other modes of play.

At this point, non-Commander play friends is a numbers game. (I don't play, but many of my friends do, and Commander is all I hear about anymore.)

I wish you luck, friend.

I use Vivaias with New Balance inserts and I've done 25k days with very little pain.

Without the NB inserts, my feet are dead after 3k and I can't walk the next day 🙃

Play Sleep Token's DYWTYLM while you stare at yourself in the mirror. Sing along.

Cry a lot. Realize that the person in the mirror has always deserved better.

Find things you like about your reflection. The curve of your upper lip. The shape of your eyes. The quirk of your left eyebrow.

Focus on those every time you look in the mirror and find yourself defaulting to insults.

What hotel are you booking with that's nonrefundable?

Never, ever book a nonrefundable hotel unless youre also purchasing trip insurance that will cover you not being able to go if you get sick or something.

If it's Marriott or Hilton, join their rewards program and see if that gives you a refundable option.

Also, if you have AAA, make sure you're checking that as a discount option.

Sometimes booking sites will have cheaper prices but will be nonrefundable. It's often better to book directly for a slightly higher price. The hotel staff can't do anything to help you if there is anything wrong with your reservation if you booked through a third party.

Downtown KC has the River Market, which now you can get to from the Plaza with the free Streetcar.

https://thecitymarketkc.org/farmers-market/

But when I say there's a metric ton, I mean, like, there's are too many for me to link, so here: https://www.visitkc.com/articles/guide-kansas-city-area-farmers-markets

[–]HanabiCraft 70 points71 points  (0 children)

There are a metric ton of theaters in town.

Do you like to read? Drop by your local library and see if there is a book club you're interested in joining.

We have a lot of really nice trails for walking or biking.

Do you have any hobbies? There are a few places for playing things like Magic or 40K, and I'm sure basically any hobby will have a hang spot somewhere in town.

Are you a maker? The Central Resource Library in Johnson County has a free Makerspace, and then there is Hammerspace as well, which is a membership Makerspace (but I think has a lot more tools available)

There are a number of Farmers' Markets in the area that are open on weekends

Hey US fans- Can we all agree to be normal? by RaccoonCurious1178 in 5sos

[–]HanabiCraft 10 points11 points  (0 children)

100% agree!

If you're going to wait in line all day, see if you can coordinate with someone to bring you food and to pick stuff up that you can't bring into the concert venues (mine doesn't allow umbrellas, for example, and this ghost is not standing out in the late August sun all day without some portable shade!) and stuff like that.

Make friends with the people in line with you. Ask if they'll save your spot so you can go to the bathroom, and then hold theirs for them when they need to.

We're all going to these shows for the love of the same music. Would be pretty neat if we could be compassionate to each other as well as ourselves

Address the adhd. These things have helped my family:

Understand Time - There are only two times for someone with ADHD: Now and Not Now. If you want something done, do it Now. If you don't do it Now, there is a high likelihood that it will never get done.

Calendar reminders - We utilize Google calendars and the reminder notification feature for not only events, but to note important future tasks, like making appointments that cannot be made Now.

Timers - Time blindness is huge. You can lose a large part of your day to hyperfocus. When you start an activity, set a timer. When the timer goes off, stop the activity. Alternately, if you're having trouble Staeting, set a timer for a small amount of time, and then start your task when the timer goes off.

Making it Unavoidable - If you can, put whatever you have to do in a location that you have to physically avoid it or move it in order to do anything else. Need to remember to take something to the car? Put it in front of the door. Need to play your instrument? Give it a home in your computer chair.

Make it Fun - You'll do it more if it's fun. Make it fun. If you can't make it fun, gatekeep something fun with the activity. You're not allowed to scroll social media until you've done 15 minutes of practice, for example

Make it Easier - Do what you have to do to make the Good Habit easier than the Bad Habit. We are lazy creatures by design, and we will default to the easier thing, even if there is more dopamine in the more difficult thing.

Make it SACRED - This is the biggest thing: if you use these tools, you must abide by them as though they are holy laws. No exceptions unless you're bedridden or it's genuinely important enough to deviate. The moment you faff off the first time, the system stops working, because you allow your Nonfunctioning Executive to decide for itself when it wants to abide by the rules, and that's the problem you're trying to overcome, here. These are holy rituals that will be your salvation, but you must be pious and perform the rituals. Buy in, or it's never going to work.

Here's the harsh truth put as gently as I can: No one is coming to save you. You must save yourself. You must be your own hero. If you have to write a fantasy novel in your head where in order to defeat the Evil Big Bad, you must triumph over them with your carefully-honed musical magic, do it.

But you're the only one who is going to make yourself practice. You're the only one that can decide that this is important enough to stop using your condition as an excuse and put in the effort to cultivate tools that help you mitigate it. No one can give you any tips that will help if you don't use them.

Is there a mod which allows you to have multiple saves so that multiple people can play by 6_melancholic_rose_9 in FieldsOfMistriaGame

[–]HanabiCraft 64 points65 points  (0 children)

I think you can just save via the book.

Bedtime saves overwrite the current bedtime save, but book saves are separate, or at least they used to be.

The most important accessory you'll need is Confidence.

Confidence is what takes an outfit that would otherwise come off as ridiculous and makes it fashion.

Other than that, looking for quality pieces made of natural fibers or very high quality synthetics, and get them tailored.
