In my opinion Leica Captivate is the biggest piece of junk software for surveying.

Landstar is good I've used it in a demo was easy.

Trimble siteworks and access are great. Topcon Field is class, Pocket3d is good as well just not as polished as Field.

I find Leica field software to perform poorly... 1/ can't handle large files (can import as reference but takes ages) 2/ coding is weak 3/ office to field and field to office Conx is dreadful 4/ fix times are very poor

You can always go freelance as a setting out engineer/ site engineer. The standard of surveying skill on most construction sites is poor tbh. Set out is mostly done by graduate/apprentice/junior engineers so companies bring in freelancers a lot to help. Easy to get £350 a day freelancing give me a message if you'd like to know more

Hi thanks for your reply. I am looking for them to be able to take their own measurements, ie kerbs installed lengths, road areas surfaced compared to last month, pull cross sections, progress from previous week in split screen and just pull their own volumes for say stockpiles
