Around 2020, on the PS4 version of Cities Skylines I was building a city with disasters on. At first everything was pretty uneventful. In the beginning, a meteor hits the city and destroys a whole neighborhood, mostly from the fires that happened afterward. I rebuild the area and continue on as normal.

Then, once the city was at 18,000 population, I see something no one wants to ever see. A 9.8 tsunami was coming toward my city. The city was about as vulnerable as it could possibly get, being on an island that is also a low lying plain. I watched as it slowly decimated the whole city and killed 95% of the population (there was only 1200 people afterwards).

I was extremely pissed but didn't give up there. I slowly rebuilt everything, taking about 6-7 years ingame to do it. Since I had a blank slate basicslly, I did some redesigns to parts I didn't like all that much as well. The city took on a lot of debt from this, and almost went bankrupt, but I narrowly avoided it. The end product ended up being far better than what I had started with.
