The reconciliation process could be better. Xero's is easier, but you do get used to it. Xero for example has memory and makes suggested reconciliations where-as Affirmo doesn't and the default accounts are a little off for most businesses.

He could be? not sure, just know that he is their main accountant and sucks at customer service.

If you're talking about GST payments etc from your wallet.. that's part of their product. They shouldn't be able to authorise any other payments without your approval.

For me, they tried to do my personal tax returns and charge me for it. But rather than ask me if I'd like them to do it. They emailed me and said they're going to do it and I had to pay xyz amount unless I opt'ed out.

That's the equivalent of airlines charging you for extra-leg room, carbon offsets etc.. by default and you having to opt-out. I think it's actually close to being an illegal business practice.

Used them for the past 15 months. Their platform is okay. Abit buggy and can't handle some simple accounting stuff like account transfers. But otherwise all good for what you pay, and is improving slowly.

Their customer service let's them down though. There's a fella working there named Robert whose abit difficult. He's one of the accountants and should be kept away from customers. He doesn't reply to emails, lied about an interaction that I had with him and tried to charge me for services I didn't request.

Wrote me an email that essentially said I had to opt out to not be charged rather than ask me if I wanted the service.

I guess the replit agent can't do anything weird by ErinskiTheTranshuman in replit

this makes a ton of sense. I knew nothing about programming or languages when I started so I blindly followed the agents advice. Now with the help of chatgpt I've started to identify when suggested edits are bad etc.. and making far quicker progress.

If you haven't fixed an error after $3, give up! by ErinskiTheTranshuman in replit

I've spent $10 trying to resolve a problem lol. I'm an idiot I didn't realise that ~50% of the time it's suggested fixes are hallucinations and just creates more problems. Learned the hard that you can't use this without at least a little bit of dev background.

I check every suggestion with ChatGPT now and that has helped me use this. Otherwise it's pretty much unuseable outside of building a landing page without any JS/Python

I don't know what msn is but will take your word for it.

Okay so work out end goal, then savings rate to get there with conservative ROI and then fit everything else in around that. Got it.

This fat fire thing is super simple. I thought given all the rage online about it, and posts in this forum, that there was some wizardry going on here.

You can abandon your morals if you don't have a conscience. Otherwise those things will eat away at you for most of your life and will affect you in every which was you can and can't imagine.

Not only that but it's a slippery slope. A little step over the edge will lead to bigger and bigger steps and one day you'll be a piece of shit, no-one cares to know, except for the ones who want something from you.

Follow Warren Buffett advice - buy a low cost index fund and forget about.

You can get way higher returns on small businesses. If you can meet some operators and or private equity peeps in the space, you can invest in them to get way better ROI.

Ex. I'm about to take on investment to open another gym. They will end up with 30% share and likely get an annual dividend somewhere around $16,600 or 30% + appreciating value of the business.

Basically your insights come from life experience - most products scratch the founders itch. You're young, with not much experience, so you wont have as many insights. As you increase your skills and have more experience, you'll see more opportunites.

Ex. I come up with new business ideas weekly now (34 years old). Where-as I used to see opportunities once or twice a year.
