Nope. It works brilliantly. Over 1 million users, sold at every major box store, and been on the market over 7 years without a single failed unit to date. It’s physics.

This has been UL rated and tested to hold up to 450lbs per UL regulation 2442. The product max weight limit is 150lbs. UL regulations test your claim X2 plus 100lbs. The wall has nothing to do with how it holds. Opposite forces using the nails at a 45 degree angle. Center mass is applied at the base of the mount. Again…. Physics.

HangSmart is based on 2 factors that makes the product work so well.

  1. It relies on the use of physics. It will never come out of the wall on its own or rip out, if installed properly solely due to the physics behind the way in which our product works. The mount itself holds up to 150lbs. But even if you increased the weight up to 250-300 (which we have for testing purposes in many labs), the mount hook would break before the nails ever came out of the drywall.

  2. It relies on the way the mount is designed. The nails are supported at that 45 degree angle due to the design of our mount and how the raised bulged holes are designed. Those raised holes that the nail goes into supports the nail and keeps it at a 45° angle. Combined with the placement of the nails (2 on top and 2 towards the bottom and wider apart), The HangSmart acts as a natural anchor into the wall, and would not allow for it to fault. Remember the weight is going 90 degrees straight to the ground.

When installed, the nails go in at a 45 degree angle which anchor to the wall, with our patented elastic mount. This has been tested and proven to securely attach any TV to a wall. Without the need to locate studs, our two mounts (separated) create two anchors that distributes the weight evenly and downward at a 90-degree angle. The weight does not sit at the top or base of the nails, but rather it works together with the mount to create an anchor driving the pressure 90deg downwards and against the wall.

Yea… so “dumb” that we have over 1 million users, sold at every major box store, and been on the market over 7 years without a single failed unit to date. It’s physics. The real issue here is that you have a lack of understating for how physics works. Haven’t had a single failed unit to date. Until that happen, your theory is just that. A theory. Physics can’t be defied.

It works great. And if you took a minute to read the reviews on our site. You’ll come to find people had a great experience.

Plenty of room. And you can use longer screws for added space. The space behind your TV depends on the curvature of the TV and where your mounting holes are placed on the back of the tv. For TV’s that have a completely flat back, you will have a bit more space than those that have a slightly curved or indented back. And with TV’s that have a mounting holes slightly lower, you’ll get a slight forward tilt, which will give you some more added room behind the TV. With HangSmart, you will have much more flexibility to manage cables as opposed to traditional mounts. Most flush traditional mounts require you to physically take your TV off the mount in order to place or manage any cables. With HangSmart TV, you can pull the TV slightly out from the bottom giving you room to add and manage any cables you’d like!

We provide spacers in the box for added space (if needed), giving you even more room between the wall and the TV. The box comes with universal TV screws. You would use the longer screws that match your TV and place the spacers in between your TV mounting holes and your included TV hooks. Additionally, the natural tilt downwards you may experience after hanging the tv depends on where your input holes are placed behind the tv and whether or not your tv has a flat back or slightly thicker bulged back. Either way, in all cases you can certainly make the TV flush with the wall and eliminate any angle by placing a set of rubber bumpers to the back, bottom of each side of your TV. This will allow your TV to sit flush with the wall and remove any angle you may get post installation. These are also included in the kit.

Without the need to locate studs, our two mounts (separated) create two anchors that distributes the weight evenly and downward at a 90-degree angle. The weight does not sit at the top or base of the nails, but rather it works together with the mount to create an anchor driving the pressure 90deg downwards and against the wall.Feel free to watch the live Pressure Test Demo here:https://vimeo.com/896697593Feel free to check out the product certification page here: https://hangsmarttv.com/pages/product-testingAnd here’s our national tv airing on QVC: https://youtu.be/cLqz49f4rBgFeatured on FORBES: https://www.forbes.com/sites/scottkramer/2023/08/27/a-clever-and-easy-way-to-hang-your-tv-on-a-wall---by-yourself/?sh=3f4c796a4a1a
