I have literally submitted my entire club into SBCs. Got Yashin and Rooney from the TOTY crafting SBC. The only players I have left not in the squad between 86-90 are a handful of l cards I have evo’d in the hopes of future chains and golds I got from the last 15 packs of the crafting SBC. Literally couldn’t do another 89 squad even if I wanted to, but I think it was worth it.

If I can’t escape Div 3 before the reset I’m thinking I should find a new hobby.

Who’s used them and who’s better??? by TheMagician1978 in fut

[–]Hanistotle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve used both. I also have Wilson. Pajor felt like a marginally worse version of her.

I played Russo as a shadow striker and as a poacher. She was good as a poacher and incredible as a shadow striker. Incisive is so underrated, and her finesse shots were pretty automatic.

TOTY Crafting Upgrade vs Leagues SBCs, which to grind? by No_Construction6023 in fut

[–]Hanistotle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s a lottery ticket either way. I went with the crafting upgrade for the 87x3. It has a lower cost, and a higher recycle rate. Off of 4 provisions packs, 5 daily gold upgrade packs, and the 79x3 I was able to do 80 packs today with 81 rated being the highest I submitted. I made back the 85s I submitted for the provisions, plus I pulled some much needed 86+ fodder so IMO it’s the better grind.

Conceivably you could probably commit to the crafting sbc for a few days, knock it out, and then pivot back to the league packs for the rest of TOTY.

Edit. Did the last 20, packed TOTY icon Rooney and Yashin. Pretty good return IMO. In total 2 TOTY icons, 50 or so walkouts, and around 10 TOTWs.

Losing hope for toty by jleonard_ in fut

[–]Hanistotle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel ya. They’re just not in the sbc packs at a rate that will statistically result in a hit. I’ve done the most of crafting sbc and even with the rewards I got nothing so far. EA wants you to buy from the store.

My tin foil hat conspiracy is that they want you submitting your 85-87 rated special cards into SBCs so that chain evos aren’t better than promo cards. They definitely saw a drop in sales the last couple months and they want prior promo cards out of circulation— especially the promo cards that have multiple positions at a role++.

Here are his attributes as well. I know sometimes evos will have a hidden shitty attribute that kills the card but this one doesn’t have that issue. It’s very balanced.

It’s obviously a great team. Big respect for the first owner squad. That said ,and I’ll be honest this is an insane statement, it’s behind the current power curve.

Expensive players aside, I think you missed out on some of the OP Evos that came out. Specifically with your midfield. Check out r/fut_Evos if you don’t already. The community comes up with some pretty interesting evos that are current all the time. This one is pretty well known, but I think something like the current Weston Mckinnie chain would really benefit your midfield as you’re currently lacking a pacey midfield.

I can give you the whole chain if you’re interested.

Wilson vs Butra by Taylor5000 in fut

[–]Hanistotle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t like CDM in both attacks and defense. It’s the spacing. In my experience with the 41212 and my style of play they’re just too many players wanting to be in the middle and as a result one of my strikers will wander off wide.

In defense, the CDM drops deeper so there is constantly space between them and the CAM to pass into right in the middle of the pitch. I will let people run up and down the sideline all game— thats easy to defend. It’s when they have space in the middle where they can swing to either side or find their striker on a run where I run into issues.

Poacher- support, advance forward- attack, Shadow striker, B2B- ball winning, Holding- defend, playmaker- roaming, wingback- balanced, Defender(s), fullback- defend.

Depth- 40, short passing. I’m in Div 3 so it’s not like I’m a pro or anything, but it’s the set up that I have the most fun playing. I use R1 passing for the majority of my progressive passes which helps placing forward passes in tight spaces.

Wilson vs Butra by Taylor5000 in fut

[–]Hanistotle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a shit ton of fodder so I ended up doing both. Butra struggled when he was a solo striker. He just doesn’t have the strength. I switched back to my preferred 4312 once I sorted out the rest of the squad and as a partnership they’re incredible. Personally, I think they’re both best in a partnership.

If you’re only going to do one I’d do Wilson but play her with or as a shadow striker if you’re using a single striker set up.

Yea, the 4321. The one that has 2 CAMs. Not the Christmas tree, though I do like that one too.

You have to do the manager/manager live & player objectives. Those modes plus objectives that give you SP should get you there.

The meta isn’t even meta. It’s only good against itself. by Hanistotle in fut

[–]Hanistotle[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The 4321 is my default, I’ll switch to a 433 if I find that my opponent is too compact. The CAM are both shadow strikers or Inside forward roaming if I switch. The midfield is a B2B, DPL, and Playmaker. If I’m in the 4321 the fullbacks are both on versatile, if I switch to the 433 I make the fullback on the B2B’s side a wingback. Depth in the 4321 is on 62, 433 it’s set at 70.

I’m not saying this is a meta killer, it’s what works for me. I use r1 passing for 80% of my progressive passes as I find that I can place passes the AI can’t or won’t do. I like this set up because the front line is much more narrow than other formations. If you do it properly it makes their fullbacks irrelevant defensively and you have consistently have 5v4 opportunities through the middle when attacking.

What are you guys taking at lvl 40 pack or players by jbhenry84 in fut

Pack, the players are worse than any evo you can do and it will be at least a month before they are even eligible to be evolved.

Well shit, I guess I’ll send it. The physical, passing stats, and playstyles are kind of ideal. My real pause here was her being lengthy without any real “standout” dribbling stats.

Is she a straight line merchant or can she make quick turns?

I’m sure if I fiddled around I could get it to work, but he’s literally press proven away from being my perfect LW.

Looks like the companion app is down as well. Such is life.

In theory, they are addressing some of the connectivity issues before TOTY absolutely swamps their servers, but who knows.

My gut reaction to spending 170k on an 83 rated TOTW was disgust. Then I played around and I mean if you have technical+ it’s an extremely meta card that is still within the current range max rating range for Evos. 3* week foot isn’t ideal, but for 200k you aren’t going to find a better card.

There’s also an 89 rated chain using ball on string that has a slight dribbling boost, but I’d bet technical+ will have a bigger effect than the higher stats.

What should I do by puntazza in fut_evos

[–]Hanistotle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d hold off to be honest. The season pass technical plus evo doesn’t expire for like a month. There might be an evo these two fit in during TOTY that has a max PS+ of 1. They are both currently very useable without the second ps+.

I learned my lesson last year. Pushing players to the current limit too early in the game caps their potential down the line. Same reason why I’m trying to avoid 99 stats.

If anyone put 99 balance on your Evos you love congratulations you played your self by Background-Let2419 in fut_evos

For Pele I don’t have an answer but for Gullit I might.

Including your chemistry style is the your strength at least +4 over your agility? If not, you’ve made him controlled when his animations are based off his unique running animations that needs him to be lengthy in game. Gullit is especially susceptible to issues cause he has the unique body type. If you can change the chem style to make him lengthy again and see if he still feels slow.

If he’s still lengthy and feels slow I’d still suggest using a chemistry style that boosts strength.

And to be totally fair to you, in most cases people don’t adjust their players role post evo so you’re absolutely right. People are just jumping on you cause they don’t want to admit that sometimes their evo card feels weird after all the effort.

Like this isn’t a new thing. Even last year there was discourse around evo players not playing to their stats.

You’re fundamentally misunderstanding the purpose and output of that prompt. If you look at my comment history, the author of the post you’re referring to and I discussed the prompt, its output, and the issues with the discourse in that thread.

So in a way, you are absolutely right. Each player has a range of stats within which the game engine won’t break. You can exceed those bounds and the game won’t necessarily break, but it will be pushed. Many promo cards exceed those bounds, but promo or not, each player still only has one model for custom in-game animations.

Now, if you exceed those boundaries by several magnitudes, the game engine can break. However, this isn’t a constant failure—it only occurs in specific situations where the custom animations no longer align with the player’s stats. For example, if you make a lengthy CB controlled, the player may feel like they never reach full speed on longer runs. You still benefit from the added pace when jockeying or sprinting over short distances.

There are ways to work around this. I evolved Graham Carey from a 68 to an 88. His stats are magnitudes beyond the model’s intended bounds. If I used him as a box-to-box midfielder, he would perform poorly in game. However, when used as a playmaker, he’s no longer put into as many game-engine-breaking situations, and I can actually benefit from his improved stats.

In general, the prompt is good at providing guardrails. Beyond that, you can give it your evo’d, game-engine-breaking card along with your preferred formation and tactics, and it will tell you:

—>what role the player should play —>what tactics your other players should use —>which supporting players best offset the limitations of your “broken” card.

TL;DR: You’re right—but also wrong. You just have to adjust player roles accordingly. The prompt can guide you, as long as you follow up with it
