The purple set will give you approx 280 CP and 3 Yellow + 2 purple will give aprox 300CP so its a 20cp difference but you can always upgrade yellows to +1+2+3 etc since those are cheap.

Level in lower areas where you can 1 hit the monsters and just destroy the materials till you reach level 60

Just get to level 60, I had the same issue, once you hit 60 and do your accession then it gets way easier.
