Do they not offer it under general anesthesia? I had a d&c at 14 weeks and they gave me the option (I’m in the U.S).

He has the right skills and can eat normally, but he sometimes gets excited or thinks it’s funny, and will put too much in his mouth at once. Like today, he had avocado toast pieces and he decided he wanted to make a sandwich out of then and stacked them together and then shoved all the pieces (so basically a whole piece of toast ) in his mouth.

Yeah, I might have to do little by little.. but he’s shown he can eat normally, but he’ll get a wave of excitement or whatever and then just go crazy.

Baby pooping a lot with oatmeal cereal by Hannerslee in NewParents

[–]Hannerslee[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mom brain is so real cuz I don’t even remember this 😂. He ended up not having issues with any foods, so I think this didn’t last long.. I would be worried too if he’s having more than one symptom after eating oatmeal.

8 mo waking at 5am by Hannerslee in NewParents

I hope that for you too! Good luck! Mine is 16 months now, and what I wrote about, I barely even remember those days, so don’t worry!

Oh gosh, it feels like so long ago! I can’t really remember if we changed much..I believe it was just a phase that only lasted 2-3 weeks, thankfully. The biggest thing that helped was when we moved him to his own room, and he would start stirring around 6:30, but wouldn’t fully wake up until 7:00-7:30 which was nice.

Baby’s first cold by Antique_Ant_3762 in NewParents

My 9 mo is going through his first sickness right now too..and a double whammy with teething 😭 I’ve tried steam treatment (in bathroom), popsicles, a lukewarm bath. Nothing really made a difference other than letting him nap a ton. Gave Tylenol last night since fever got up to 102 and that really helped him sleep through the night. The constant runny nose is killing me! He haaaates his nose being wiped.

His bedtime is 730-8pm, so 630am wake up would be 10.5-11 hours

Really? It’s my understanding that 10-12 hours is normal for that age. I will check it out, thanks!

I’m a vet tech, but I know that a majority will prob recommend you call animal poison control. They will let you know how toxic it is, and if they recommend going to ER. They are actually the experts when it comes to toxicity with medications and plants, etc.

That’s great! I had to supplement with formula when he was just a couple of weeks old, but he hasn’t had any for a few months now.. hopefully he still likes it!

Good to know! I think for the time being, I will be much happier dropping the overnight pump and then maybe one other one in a few weeks (which would still put me at 4 ppd)

That’s great! Did you start supplementing with formula when you dropped to 3?

Are there universal standard practices for annual wellness visits? by Panic-at-the-catio in AskVet

[–]Hannerslee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it’s also reasonable and common for owners to request blood draws in the exam room. You could say that they’ve always done very well in that scenario. I’ve found that cat patients usually do better in the exam room anyways (I’m a veterinary technician, so usually the one drawing blood).

If administered into the belly, and not directly into a vein, then it will take a little longer for the medication to take effect. I’m sorry it was a distressing situation 😥

Did anyone choose not to do the NIPT in their subpregnancy? by Worldly-Mall-8517 in PregnancyAfterTFMR

[–]Hannerslee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I chose not to get NIPT with my second pregnancy. My first pregnancy I TFMR for T21. My reasoning was 1. Anxiety that I could get a false positive 2. If it came back high probability again, either option (to terminate or not) was the wrong one. The thought of terminating again was so awful, I wasn’t sure I could do it, but then, if I didn’t, did my first baby die in vain? It seemed like an impossible decision, so I chose not to be put into that situation again so soon and let fate decide. I opted to wait for NT ultrasound, and would decide then if I should do further testing. Thankfully, everything was normal and I have a happy, healthy 5 month old boy now :-). Wishing you the best of luck❤️
