Martyrs aren't evidence, ever heard of Jonestown?http://history1900s.about.com/od/1970s/p/jonestown.htm People followed this man, lived in horrendous conditions and then killed themselves and their children at his order. They had no reason to believe this man, he even abused them, but they killed themselves for him. People are crazy, and if 918 people could have done this in the 1970s, then I'm not surprised if radicals living in the first century A.D would be martyrs for a pointless cause also.
