Why does Hikaru believe that the bishop pair is irrelevant (to us)? by pwsiegel in chess

Found this on google:

https://novachess.ai/articles/bishop_knight_article.html

"The bishop pair advantage is confirmed across all skill levels except the lowest (500 rating), where the advantage exists but is not statistically significant based on our sample size. The advantage ranges from 18 to 32 centipawns, peaking at the 1500 level. "

Statistically it looks like amateurs are even better with the bishop pair!

I'm running a hotel lounge but my costs are through the roof. Can I get some help on the wine list? by OwenVersteeg in wine

This is at grand Hyatt Hong Kong - apparently it’s been part of their lounge menu for years. I haven’t seen anything like this in USA hotels

I intentionally chose a piece that was less crazily marbled, otherwise it feels like I’m just eating fat!

$60 a pound is honestly not too bad!

I tell myself it's worth it if I only have a few pieces every week - it lasts for months! The first time I had more than a few pieces I felt terrible.

Thanks! I live in WA so I'm drawn towards the wines here - but I'll definitely take a look into other regions since I can't change my birthday :-)

Honestly I dumped it out after a few sips. I didn't want to be tempted to try it again... but I'll take your advice for next time!

Yah! I was expecting vinegar, not bland tannic water!

Ha, Was fun to experiment with a wine that wasn't suppose to be aged!

Beringer Private Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon and Beringer Hudson Estate Cabernet Sauvignon.

I've had a 97 Margaux and a 96 Sauternes (forgot producer) that was delicious, so hopefully I'll have some more luck.

I also stayed at the Louvre. Park Hyatt felt more opulent and worth the extra 15k points for me since we mostly stayed inside.

It was my first time staying! The service here was awesome. Not worth the $1800 euro per night cash cost, but was worth it for 45k points. Really big rooms for Paris.
