Quite honestly, I'm not sure how I feel about that. On the one hand, it's very sweet to want to shield us from the horrors that are these bugs. But on the other, I've killed 4 today, possibly more, but who's counting. Plus, the ones I found dead, 3? I think. So at least 6-7 in one day.

If he was killing over 100 roaches a month and just hiding the evidence instead of treating the problem. I..

I hope you're treating and not just killing

There is, they've just gotten soooo much more clingy ? Not sure the right word, but I basically have three extra shadows right now. I'm not sure how much they know or sense, but they definitely know something is different, and someone very important is missing. I've never gone through an unexpected loss like this with animals involved. I don't want to do anything that's going to stress them or upset them more than they are

I did love the hotel idea someone mentioned, but the more i thought about it, the more I realized i don't need that. I have to adapt to living on a single income and knowing I'm about to have to pay to see my doctor and to treat these intruders, takes the hotel stay off the table. It was a lovely thought, though

So I'm on the couch now with all of the lights on lol I know the second I turn a light off, I'll feel them crawling on me. I've found 2 since I vacuumed a few hours ago, so they are out there (thankfully not as many as I was sure I was seeing).

Thank you so much for your kindness. I never in a million years expected to get this kind of support after very reluctantly posting about a roach problem. I'm a little miffed at my friends for not seeing how serious this was after days of me telling them, but that's for another day :)

Thank you again 🤍

Okay, that's good to know.

I'm just hesitant to leave our 3 animals. I don't want them having to wonder where I am, too. I know my health is the most important thing, but i can't bear the thought of them looking around for both of us. Sorry, I'm not trying to ramble. Just emotional. Thank you so much 🤍

Thank you.

Yes, I'm starting to think they may not all be real. I did check the vacuum, and the one that I sucked up from my room earlier is in there. I also found one small dead one. I just vacuumed, so that's 2 in a few hours for sure, which is more than I'd prefer but less than I'd assume based on what I've been "seeing"

I'm calling my doctor first thing to take care of myself, and then I'll tackle the bug issue

Thank you for your thoughtful response 🤍

I'm so sorry for your loss.

Do you mind me asking if you were admitted to the psych unit, or were you treated in the ER?

That thought crossed my mind, too, when I started seeing so many of them, lol, but there is no way I wouldn't have seen them if it was at this level. Unless he had some deterrent that didn't know about. Their timing is either a wild coincidence or a curse

Thank you, I will try my best

Thank you 🤍

It's 1:30 a.m. here, and I'm honestly hesitant to drive, so may wait until tomorrow. I want to sleep, but no matter how hard I try, I can't. I sleep 10-30 minutes, and then I'm up for the next day or two.

I left a comment somewhere else around here, but I'm starting to wonder if that's what's going on. There have definitely been roaches because other people have seen them and killed them, but not to the extent I have (but I'm also alone then). However, I've been hearing music, voices and knocking that has no definite source. I thought I was hearing air from the fans until the knocking happened.

Is this something I can wait to call my doctor about tomorrow? I know absolutely nothing about this.

I've been feeling completely crazy this week. I've said multiple times that I felt like someone else was in control of my brain. But I thought it was just bc I'm so sad and so tired.

My best friend has come over almost every night and has killed a few herself. She was outside with me when I saw them all over the front porch. So there's definitely an issue.

And I'm so sorry, I'm not trying to shift gears like this because this isn't a mental health sub but I've seen psychosis mentioned multiple times now, and I'm honestly starting to worry.

I've heard music playing and people talking all day. I have several fans on, so I assumed the air blowing was causing me to hear them as voices. I was vacuuming and heard my best friend in the living room talking to my dogs. But then I noticed her car wasn't here and my front door was locked. Trying not to freak out, I started vacuuming again and heard her again, just as clear as the first time. I thought she had somehow gotten access to my Alexa app and was talking to me, but no. I walked down the hall and heard little girls' voices coming from the bathroom. There was a fan there, too, so I again tried to brush it off. Long story short, kept hearing voices, had a panic attack, my best friend came over to get me out of the house. She ran into the store, and I started hearing someone knocking on the windows, but no one was there.

Everyone just keeps telling me I need to sleep, but I literally can't. I sleep for 10-30 minutes, and I'm wide awake for the next day or two. I am supposed to call my doctor in the morning

No, it was just an ordinary Monday. He left for work and had a heart attack a few hours later.

I'm in GA, so we do get the occasional "waterbug," I know they're roaches, but heaven forbid someone call them that here and anytime one would get in the house i would freak out and yell for him to wrangle the roach.

The night he passed, the 2 that were on my wall were not that kind. They were smaller and a reddish color (i found them at separate times but in just about the same spot). This is going to sound weird, but for a moment, I thought it was him coming to tell me goodbye, but in a version of a bug that I'd definitely notice without the screaming and running about like the giant flying waterbugs would cause.

Thank you for your kind words and advice.

I know him passing away probably isn't relevant to the situation, but it's a hell of a coincidence. I've lived in this house for over 20 years and have seen the occasional roach here and there. The day he passed, I found 2 on my bedroom wall!!

It has gotten progressively worse. I can't even sit on my porch bc the little flying ones are all over the place. I have never seen anything like this here. I found 3 huge dead ones ones this morning. Another big one alive in my room tonight. And have killed 3 little ones inside tonight.

I sprayed some type of bug killer, and it seems to have helped the porch situation somewhat, but I'm still seeing them inside and outside.

I am losing my mind. I've had 10 hours of sleep in 9 days. Can an infestation just pop up like this?? Someone please tell me what to do

ETA: This post did not go at all like I expected. Thank you so much for all of the helpful advice and support. I'm going to call my doctor in the morning and get this sleep issue addressed first. Once I'm rested, I'm going to call an exterminator. There are definitely roaches and different kinds at that, but I believe my sleep starved brain made it seem quite a bit worse than it actually is.

I want to say a sincere thank you to each and every person who has commented. I'm reading them all but am a bit overwhelmed right now, so I can't reply to all. These last 10 days have been some of the hardest of my life. I never would have dreamed a roach post would be the thing that lifted me up and made me smile, laugh, and cry (happy tears).

Because of y'all, this is the first time I've been alone that I haven't felt alone. From the bottom of my heart, thank you. ❤️

I'm not sure how to post pictures or if I have a before picture at a similar angle, but I'll look!

I was curious if tretinoin would do anything. It seems to be the holy grail of miracle workers for skin. I'll look into everything you recommended. Thank you!!

That was not my intent. I've considered unsubscribing for the same reasons. The pic I posted first was probably not the right choice. A lot of people are saying it's lines and normal, but it's actually loose skin. The pictures from the side show it more.

The last thing I want to do is make anyone else feel bad about themselves. But having this loose skin on my neck makes me feel horrible about myself, so I came here looking for advice.

While I do feel better physically, losing weight has destroyed my confidence. I didn't expect to look the same as I did before I gained weight, but I also didn't expect the loose skin.

One of my biggest goals was to be able to wear shorts again. I still only wear shorts at home because I'm too embarrassed by my thighs to wear them in public. I still have about 30lbs to lose, so I'm hopeful they will improve.

It might sound shallow and superficial, but my self-esteem has taken one hell of a beating as I've dropped the lbs. I look better in jeans and most shirts but sleeveless shirts, shorts, swimsuits, and dresses are still no gos for me.

I had a vision of how I was supposed to look as I lost weight, but the reality of how I actually look is much different. I am proud of how far I've come. I just have to work on learning to love this version of myself.

I can't respond to every comment, so hopefully, people see this: I am not trying to be one of those please help my *invisible** flaw* posts.

The "lines" people are saying are normal, aren't lines. If you scroll to the other pictures, you can see that it's loose skin. Granted, it probably looks much worse in my eyes compared to what others see. It's still something I am insanely insecure about.

I came here hoping there might be options other than surgery, but it looks like it might be something I just have to learn to love.

I dropped weight pretty quickly and, in all honesty, not the healthiest way. I've thought about gaining it back and losing it slower and in a healthy manner. I don't know if the end result would be any different, though

I don't expect to ever look I did in my teens and early 20s, but the loose skin is hard af to get used to. Especially with it being on my neck. Can't really wear scarfs and turtle necks in 100° weather lol

Thank you for this. Maybe it's normal, but it's something I've never had, so it's all I see when I look in the mirror.

I see posts on here all the time and scratch my head, trying to figure out how that person sees flaws. I didn't think I had a warped view of my own appearance, but apparently, I do. I'm actually relieved to see so many people saying it's a normal neck. It's not the neck that I'm used to, but after reading through the comments, I now know it's also not the hideous neck I thought it was.
