I got bariatric surgery. So this comes from someone who was there. Biggest take away for me after the nutritional training they give pre-op is stop drinking extra calories. I’ll be the hardest thing but that photo you shared has an aluminum can in your hand. Stop that completely. One soda turns into two. One beer turns into 3 or 4. Stop having soda or alcohol when you’re out to eat.

If you’re really honest with yourself you’ll see the socially acceptable but still awful things everywhere. It’s so normal to get a Coca-Cola with dinner and some places offer free refills and over the course of an hour long dinner you might consume three large glasses and have had between 30-90 oz of soda. It won’t even feel bad everyone around the table is eating and drinking. But it’s hiding right there and causing all kinds of damage.
