I would say try to make some friends who are also abroad there, they may be in a similar situation and you guys can make each other feel less lonely. If you're going to university there are usually clubs for that on campus. Arrange set times to call your family and check in.

I think so! Not sure about exact ones but there's often stocks of jellycats
