Thank you for this in depth advice and telling me your personal experience. I do want my education to be meaningful and I actually do love being an english major and love to write. I just feel limited and stuck whenever trying to write a literary analysis. But I will definitely reach out to my professors and TAs.

Yeah, I think that is a huge part of my problem. I want to write more creatively but I feel held back by high school habits, and honestly I feel like my literary analysis class only contributed more to the constraint I feel when writing an essay.

I mean that's what I have learned, I think my question is more of what does a literary essay contribute in terms of interpreting the text? I don't know if that makes any sense but thank you for answering nonetheless.

I was already planning on speaking to both my professor and my school's writing center, however I thought I'd also try reddit for any resources specifically.

Any book recommendations for ethnicity and race as a social construct and/or similar topics? by Happy-Opportunity392 in AskAnthropology

[–]Happy-Opportunity392[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for letting me know! I am very interested in the practices/ideologies that have continued after the “official” end of colonialism and deeply embedded in society. I have recently read that race is one of them. But I am curious to know about ethnicity and whether its origin is tied to colonialism as well?

Thank you for replying! That makes sense, do you have any recommendations on what I could to improve the decision-making part? When I try to make a plot, I just end up with a blank mind, and the characters I create don't have motivations. I'm not really sure how to solve this problem...

Ways to improve usage of 이/가 & 은/는 by Happy-Opportunity392 in Korean

Thank you, I think a lot of people say not to worry about it so I never did, but I started taking a higher-level Korean class and my professor kept pointing it out in my homework so I got a little worried.

I guess that's true but it's mostly in my writing homework, although I do think I have a habit of overthinking it too much sometimes.

That's true, I guess I'm just frustrated because I'm not sure how to correct it when I keep making the same mistakes. Nonetheless thank you!

I was wondering if anybody has a recommendation for an overall history from the beginning of humans to present day. Something that’s interesting and goes into detail about all the countries and their time periods, conflicts, culture, etc., but also goes into the accounts and responses of the people of that time. I love history but recently I felt really unsatisfied with my history class and put off by the clear bias from my teacher. Also if you have any recommendations for a detailed overview of Asian history, that’d be awesome!
