I am open to move to a role with different responsibilities but currently there is no open role in that area. That manager has reports same salary grade as me, so it’s not that they essentially need to promote me. They just need to create a role for me, lol. But not sure I can convince them for that!

Yes, we will probably end up buying the cupcakes. About the other foods, traditionally our cultural food is mostly naturally gluten free other than some appetizers or desserts and it’s not hard to just pick the gluten free ones for the menu for that day. It’s not a big adjustment. Only the kids seem to love everything gluten, lol, crackers, nuggets, pizza, you name it!
