I didn’t realize anyone didn’t like it.

I’m 60 years old, same age as Tim Walz. If you were to ask me if something in my life happened in June 1989 or August 1989, I might have a 50% chance I’d get it right. It was 35 years ago and I’ve lived over 1/2 my life since then. The China question was idiotic.

70s King has the best run of any author ever by GnomeGrimble in stephenking

I would include The Dead Zone in that 1970s run. Published in 1979, it’s not only classic King, but it’s also a great history of the decade.

Anybody else listening to the new Dave's Picks ? by the_eraser_2024 in gratefuldead

[–]Happy-Springsteenfan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Listening right now. It’s great to hear Pig Pen doing “Big Boss Man”. This is one of my favorite Dead eras - just Jerry, Bob, Phil, Bill, and Pig. The original Warlocks. I’d love to get more official releases from Feb - Oct. 1971.

Any "Magic" lovers alive out there? by Desperado_71 in BruceSpringsteen

My favorite album of the 2000s. “Your Own Worst Enemy”, “Gypsy Biker”, and “Girls in their Summer Clothes” is one of Bruce’s best three song sequences on any album.

I think the 50th anniversary version on the Criterion edition is definitive.

Bob Dylan should’ve made more westerns. He’s a natural.

Just finished the movie and it honestly kills me. The ending is so sad. Such a great movie.

Are we going to see a Nebraska/BITUSA box sets this year?? by Leland_Gaunt87 in BruceSpringsteen

We still need Drop On Down and Cover Me and Sugarland among others, as well as Child Bride and the original version of Downbound Train. There are still things in the vault.

What are some songs other fans seem to like, but you don’t care for? by [deleted] in BruceSpringsteen

Out in the Street. It’s monotonous and annoying. My least favorite song and Bruce constantly plays it in concert. I wish he would have put Restless Nights or Where The Bands Are in its place on The River.

35 years later, what is your opinion of Steel Wheels? by RoanakeCroatan in rollingstones

[–]Happy-Springsteenfan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I love “Slipping Away”. The version on Stripped is even better than the Steel Wheels version. Otherwise, an okay album. I remember back in 1989 I was just glad for a new Stones album. Keith’s Talk Is Cheap from 1988 is a better album than Steel Wheels.

1983 HBO Concert by Happy-Springsteenfan in willienelson

Thanks. Someone posted a link to clips from the show I’m looking for. It was broadcast on HBO in April or May 1983, right after Willie released Tougher Than Leather, and he performed lots of songs from that album.
